Question:

Good evening, I am going to purchase a class 3 hitch for my odyssey and I want a wiring harness that will allow the hands free liftgate to still operate. What harness do you recommend? I see you have two options, but I am unsure on which to choose. It is a 2024 odyssey elite. Thanks!

Hi Stephen; it is the hitch and not the wiring that causes interference with the hands free liftgate. You will still be able to use this feature with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C64NR. Even if there is some interference, you won't loose the functionality. All you need to do is put your foot on either side of the receiver tube.

Then for wiring you can use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56382. This plugs into your factory wiring and will provide you with a 4-way to power your trailer lights. If you need a ball mount, check out the # e66PR.

I have this on my 2020 odyssey and when the harness goes through the trunk and is closed, it does not impact the auto lift gate at all. I have used this a dozen times so far and it has never been a problem.

I put both t connector and hitch on my 2025 sport Odyssey. No problems. I can open the lift gate with the remote, rear button or inside button. The t connector only hooks up trailer lights,it has nothing to do with opening the lift gate. I don't know if your Odyssey has a foot detector for the lift gate, mine doesn't, the receiver might affect that but I doubt it as my receiver sits above the plastic cover. The t connector on the 2025 Odyssey attaches inside the vehicle at the left side, it doesn't attach to the tail gate.
