This harness makes wiring simple. It plugs right into the vehicle’s existing connectors, so there’s no need to cut or splice any wires. Once the panels are pulled back, the T-connectors snap in place and you’re ready to go. It’s a clean, OEM-style install that looks factory once finished.
The included powered converter keeps the vehicle’s electrical system safe by isolating the trailer lights from the main wiring. It prevents overloads and interference, which is especially important when using trailers with multiple or LED lights. That means your signals stay bright and reliable every time you tow.
The 4-pole flat connector delivers all the basic lighting functions—running lights, brake lights, and turn signals—so your trailer is road-ready. It’s the standard connection for small and medium trailers and works with adapters when you need to upgrade to a 7-way setup later on.
Grounding the harness is straightforward thanks to flexible mounting choices. You can use an existing factory ground point, a weld nut with an M6x1.0 bolt, or the included self-tapping screw if no factory option is available. Each method ensures a solid ground for reliable light function.
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side interior trim panel in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, insert the included 10-amp fuse into the integrated fuse holder. Then install the 30-amp cartridge fuse and two 7.5-amp mini fuses in the rear fuse panel.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.
This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

Works perfectly on my 2025 Honda Odyssey; installation is basically plug-and-play.
Some minor room for improvement:
- The included 30amp fuse is not a low profile fuse like the others in the fuse box. I was concerned it was going to prevent the access panel from closing, but it just barely clears.
- It would have been helpful if the kit came with a bolt or self-tapping screw for the ground wire.
- Instructions say to unscrew the rear cargo hook and remove the trim panel. This only seems necessary if you plan on routing the 4-pin harness outside permanently. Otherwise, you can get to everything you need for installation through the little access panel. Then you simply route the 4-pin harness out the liftgate when you need it. The video instructions are much better in this regard. That said I do wish the 4-pin harness was about a foot longer for easier routing.

Pretty easy install on our 2020 Honda Odyssey. I did need my son's help to hold the plastic panel back and out of the way so I could reach through and do the hookups and tighten things down. Otherwise it is a one-person job. I would recommend getting the 4-flat tester with this unit, unless you have a trailer already on hand to hook up and test if everything is working.
Just received the hitch, so can't speak to quality, but this is my second one from etrailer and the first one was fine. But the service from etrailer is fantastic. When I ordered they called because I had a PO Box in my address and wanted to let me know that it couldn't be shipped to a PO Box. When I received the etrailer I received an email checking in on it. REAL PEOPLE!!!! And smart and helpful as well!

Got a bad one - Plugged in and it wouldn’t work the right turn signal lights. Etrailer was great and immediately shipped a new one and it worked fine. I wish this guy was 6-12 inches longer but it gets the job done.

I watched the video for installation prior to starting and it covered all the details needed for a successful installation. The video even provided some times on how to handle the smaller parts. I would add that the video was much better than the paper instructions that come with the wiring harness. Time to complete was very short and you do not need to be a mechanic to complete the installation.

I have had no problems. Installation was less time less than 30 minutes than previous installations.
The instructions were spot-on, but I had to read them carefully and look at those photos a few times to get it. Originally, I thought that I could route the wires outside the van, but they stay inside. While looking for a possible exit for the wires, I discovered some damp carpeting in the bottom of the well for the back seats (it's an Odyssey thing). Panic time!! Off to the internet, where I read about this common Odyssey problem and how to fix it. I was able to apply some polyurethane sealant to the offending joint at the top of the liftgate opening to solve this problem that I didn't know about. Then I went back to work on the wiring install.
All the parts necessary for the install were included - even the fuses. I popped out the panels, did the work and put the panels back in without too much trouble at all. Years ago, I had installed a similar kit for my old Odyssey that came with much more wire. This will reach to the receriver area, but just barely. Usually, there's enough slack on the trailer wiring to reach out a bit, but I'd be happier if I had another 8 inches of wire on this so I didn't have to worry about stretching it.
