What do I need to Flat tow a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4WD I have this tow bar, Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2 Hitch - 6,500 lbs and a Patriot Brake sys. Thanks

Hey Dave, welcome back! Looks like you still haven't decided on a flat tow vehicle.

To flat tow a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sport with a Alpha 2 Tow Bar item # BX7380, you'll need the following parts:

Baseplate Kit - Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - item # BX1139. This fits the stock bumper. Let me know if there's an aftermarket one installed and what kind it is.

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267
or
If your Jeep has the ParkSense Proximity Sensors - Roadmaster item # RM63MR

Charge Line - Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-156-25

Since you're using the Blue Ox Patriot item # BLU37TR, you'll also need the 12 Volt Outlet Kit item # RM-9332.

Does your Jeep have the ParkSense feature?

@JerredH I have a raised Jeep Wrangler and am towing behind a Class C motorhome. It took a few adjustments such as installing a higher hitch so the Blue Ox would be more level when towing. It works great. Great purchase and would recommend.

@DavidG I have a 2020 2dr rubicon and a 2012 4dr Liberty that I have setup to tow behind my 2025 Coachman Mirada Class A. I use the RVI3 Brake system instead of the patriot one and it works great. What Jared said is what you will need. You will also need a wiring harness that hooks into your factory brake lights in the back. There will be a hot wire that runs from the back, has an inline 20amp fuse, and hooks up to the battery. I ran it up inside my frame. A bit of work, but work it. Not sure if the patriot has the option like RVI to connect to your tow vehicle through the 6 point plug to charge the battery going down the road, but RVI3 has one and it works well. You might also need an emergency break away cable if your kit didn’t come with one. I drove my Class A all the way up to Alaska and back from Maryland this past some without issue. Etrailer has everything I just mentioned. If you need anything, just let me know.

Hi Jarred. 00Vehicle is now a brand new 2026 Jeep wrangler sport. It has park sense and a live 12 volt outlet on the dash.will that work for the Patriot 3 that we have? We have our blue ox tow bar already. Can we get a new quote based on the new info above?. Thanks Dave G
