Features to know about

Smooth Ride on Rough Roads: 7-Leaf Spring Flexes to Absorb Shock

Bumpy roads don’t have to mean a rough haul. This EMCO 7-leaf double-eye spring flexes to take up road shock and vibration, keeping the trailer steady and the ride smooth. Each leaf works together to share the load, reducing bounce and protecting the frame and cargo from harsh jolts. The spring measures 24-7/8"" from eye to eye and is built for 8,000-lb axles, with a 4,000-lb spring capacity for solid support mile after mile.

Built Strong for Heavy Loads: Sturdy 1/4"" Thick Steel Construction

When you’re carrying weight, the suspension hardware has to hold up. This spring is made from tough steel with each of its seven leaves measuring 1/4"" thick, giving it the strength to handle serious load stress without sagging. The 1-3/4"" width keeps the stack stable under compression, while the 2-1/2"" leaf stack height ensures plenty of travel for smooth axle articulation under heavy load.

Reliable Fit and Long-Lasting Hardware: 9/16"" Nylon-Bushed Eyes

Loose or worn spring eyes can throw everything out of alignment. This spring includes pre-installed nylon bushings with a 9/16"" inner diameter (11/16"" without bushing), ready to pair with standard wet bolts and shackles. The bushings reduce friction and noise during movement, helping the suspension cycle quietly and evenly. They also make installation straightforward—just line up the eyes with your existing hangers and shackle straps.

Keep the Suspension Even and True: Balanced Replacement Setup

Old springs can elongate or sag over time, leaving the trailer unlevel. Replacing both springs together restores balance and alignment so the trailer tracks straight behind you. This 7-leaf spring brings back a level stance and reliable support so your suspension works like it should on every trip.

Fast delivery - We are full time RV travelers with a 43' 5th wheel, thus making it necessary to time our orders/deliveries as to when we will be in a particular RV Park - great service. Ordered from etrailer a number of times.

Etrailer has a good product at an affordable price compared to Dexter springs. I purchased these leaf springs because the leaf below the eye spring extended underneath the eye instead of two inches behind the eye like other springs. These are well built.

by:

It works perfect and looks a lot stronger than my old ones

by:

Ordered springs for my camper because mine had worn out and become flattened. Replaced with 8k springs and went very smoothly. A little learning curve with triple axle but product was perfect. Very happy. Make sure you ordervnrw u bolts and brass bushings and wet bolts too. I did not and had to after the fact. That was my error.

by:

Looks of good quality leaf spring.

by:

Great customer service quick shipping t ime.

3 springs that are correct are fine. The 4 spring is the wrong spring, sent a 4 leaf instead of a 7 leaf, still waiting on the correct replacement.

  • Need New Leaf Springs For 2021 Grand Design Momentum 397
Hello Steve, thanks for reaching out. In my honest opinion, leaf springs are leaf springs. There is not going to be a noticeable difference in quality or longevity between the different brands. As long as the length of the spring is correct and the weight rating is correct, you will be just fine. I see you were looking at a 24-7/8" long double eye spring for an 8,000 lb axle. Our most cost effective replacement for that is the following: - 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer...

  • Replacement Leaf Spring for a Dexter 072-079-01 Leaf Spring
Hey Joe, thanks for the information! To replace your Dexter 072-079-01 leaf springs, I recommend the 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer Axles item # EM28AJ. This is a 4,000 lbs leaf spring designed for 8,000 lbs axles. It's got 7-leafs and measures 24-7/8" from the mounting holes. The Emco item # EM28AJ is made in the USA. It's constructed of high carbon steel, which provides great shock absorption. They include nylon bushings which last longer and reduced noise. This leaf...

  • Will 8k Leaf Springs Lift Trailer With 7k Axles
Hi Greg; leaf springs aren't typically used to raise a trailer. However, if the # EM28AJ matches your current leaf spring measurements, and your current leaf springs are 3-leaf, and the leaf springs are sitting on top of the axle, that would push you up by 1" with the 1/4" leaf thickness. Assuming this is a tandem axle trailer the other option would be to add the Correct Track # RR55QX. This kit extends your hangers so you don't have to cut them off and weld on new ones for a lift. You...

  • How Tall is the Leaf Stack on the 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer Axles EM28AJ?
Hey Richard! I went out to the warehouse and measured the leaf stack on the 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer Axles - 24-7/8" Long item # EM28AJ. It measures 2-1/2" tall. If you have any additional questions feel free to throw them into the comment box below.

  • Is There a Torque Spec for Install of Trailer Leaf Springs
Hey Henry, with leaf springs like the part # EM28AJ there isn't a torque spec for the shackle bolts that secure them as they need to be able to move freely. So the trick is to use lock nuts so they won't back off. So using them snug them up by hand with a wrench and then back off 1/4 turn to allow the needed movement.

  • Recommended Double-Eye Leaf Spring for 8,000 lbs Axles
Hey Richard! How did you measure your current leaf springs to get the 25-1/2" eye to eye measurement? We recommend jacking one side of the trailer up to get the weight off of them before measuring because they stretch out quite a bit over years of use. The 24-7/8" Long 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer Axles item # EM28AJ will shorten up your suspension if you actually need 25-1/2" leaf springs so I would not recommend using these. We do not have the Hydrastar E7K-T9 kit...

  • Are the Spring Eyes of the Double Eye Spring # EM28AJ Misshaped
Hey Dean, that was a one time issue that most likely was damage that occurred on the spring in shipping. The eyes of the Double Eye Spring # EM28AJ that you would order would be solid and there won't be any issues.

  • Replacement Leaf Spring for Momentum 350G Fifth Wheel
Hey Mark, I looked up the specs of the spring you have now and found that it is a 24-3/4 inch long spring from eye center to eye center and for a 7k axle. So that means that the replacement spring part # EM28AJ that you referenced will work great as a replacement since it's correct size and also for an 8k axle like you are wanting to give you more suspension support.
