Will Curt Hitch Fit 2026 Acura MDX A-Spec

Updated 04/07/2026 | Published 11/18/2025

Question:

I installed this hitch on my 2023 MDX A-Spec without issue. I was looking to trade into a 2026 MDX so my research on your website said it would fit. I removed the hitch before trading the 2023 in. However, when I went to install, it does not fit on the 2026 MDX A-Spec due to a new kick-to-open tailgate sensor. Any options for installation? This will be an issue for all but the base MDX as it appears to be standard on the Tech Package, A-Spec, Advance, and Type S. Any help you can provide? Thanks, Brian

Hello Brian; the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C22HR will still fit your 2026 Acura MDX A-Spec. According to Curt, there is a factory sensor relocation kit you will have to get from the dealer before you can install it. Your local dealer should be able to get this for you, or you may be able to find it on an OEM parts site.

What will you be using the hitch for?

Hey Brian, were you able to get the factory sensor relocation kit for your 2026 MDX A-Spec? I'm curious if that allowed the Curt hitch to fit correctly. Knowing how it turned out could help others upgrading to the newer model.

@RobinH i’m in the same situation remove my hitch from my 2023 Acura MDX and I try to install it in my 2026 MDX advance and it won’t fit because he touches the kick sensor so I went to my dealership and I bought the relocated kit, but it’s just a bracket so I’m wondering if I need to get that plastic trim piece that has the holes already there for the bracket the mountain on a little bit to the left

@Victor hey, running into the same issue. Were you able to get this to work with just the replacement kit or had to buy additional parts?
