Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package, which is located in your cargo area, on the driver's side. You will have to remove the scuff panel and the cargo holder to access this port. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, insert the included 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

Install was easy. I used it with a set of lights attached to a cargo carrier. I like being able to roll it up inside the vehicle to avoid corrosion. I just run it out under the back hatch when we use it. I had to install a fuse to activate the trailering lights, on our vehicle. Videos available to follow process. Will by another for our next vehicle.
Very disappointed, the incorrect part was shipped making me unable to tow a trailer for a trip we had planned for the holiday. I ordered part number c48zv for a 2025 and received a 56519 for a 2023-2024.
It works great and installed exactly as the video described only took about 15 minutes to install and the kit comes with 2 of the 3 needed fuses plus the spare already on the vehicle, I had everything I needed

Easy to install thanks to their videos detailing how to put it in and what the kit comes with, they are some of the only videos I could find on how to DIY and I learned a lot in the process. The fuse that was sent with it fit my car, but did not fit the fuse box for the power converter, and it was a different amperage than shown to be in the converter pictured, so I had to go out and buy that separately, which is the reason for 4 stars.
The install video did not give me a good description of the fuses I needed for my '24 Pilot. I had to pull some the other and show them to the auto-parts store. I'm sure the Honda dealer would know.
The Honda's plug is back quite far from the opening but it is visible--it's attached but pops out for easier access.
I installed it in about an hour, very happy with quality and ease of installing it. the hitch and wiring was easy, thanks to the installation guide you provided

The vast majority of the time, the failure of a taillight converter is caused by a short circuit in the trailer's wiring. Begin at the trailer's trailer connector. Look for damage, especially where the connector and the plug meet. Trace the wiring back to each lamp, looking for pinched wires or cracked wiring insulation that would allow the copper wire to short out on the trailer frame. Repair the short and replace the converter. It's very important to locate and repair the short before replacing the converter or you'll continually blow up converters. I hope that helps!
