Hey Nicolas. The best hitch for your 2024 Subaru Outback is the Curt item # C67JR. This class III 2" hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Subaru with included hardware. I really like this hitch because it mounts behind your rear bumper and not underneath your car. This not only looks better but helps with ground clearance.
The Curt Hitch item # C67JR has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight and the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper is 3". Additionally, we measured the height of the inside top of the receiver and it is 16" above the ground. This hitch will work great for towing a trailer or with an accessory like a cargo carrier or bike rack.
For a wiring harness, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56040. This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your Subaru's wiring harness, which is located behind the interior trim panel in your rear cargo area. It will provide you with a 4-flat connector.
I recommend using the No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket - Short item # 18140 and the item # C42CR bracket. to secure the 4-way connector to your hitch. This will put it in an easy to reach spot and prevent the risk of it falling onto the road.
To round out your towing setup, you'll want the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
