Question:

When searching on google I get hitch 76227 for my 2024 Subaru Outback. But, your website says that it may not fit a 2024 Outback. your stealth hitch shows it will fit a 2024. But, it sound like it is mostly for bike/luggage carriers. What do you suggest for pulling a trailer?

Thanks for reaching out, Neely. We do offer hitches for the 2024 Subaru Outback, but a google search is not a reliable way to search out site for custom fit parts. So, the # 76227 hitch you mentioned will not fit a 2024 model, it will only fit the 2013-2019 models.

Instead, I recommend the etrailer Class3 Hitch # e25TR. This has a 3,500 lb towing capacity and 350 lb tongue weight capacity, so it will definitely be adequate for pulling a small trailer.

If you prefer the stealth hitch, you can use the # 391SUOB20T. This includes the towing kit which allows for pulling a trailer. The # 391SUOB20 hitch is for bike racks and cargo carriers only - no towing.

Jesse A couple of questions. Is the towing kit that is included with B20T just the wiring and the draw bar? And even with this one is the 2 x 2 receiver not usable with a trailer? Without the draw bar attached does B20T hang below the rear bumper? I am wondering about departure height.

@NeelyN The 2" x 2" receiver that comes with the stealth hitch is not usable for towing. It can be used with hitch mounted accessories only like a bike rack or cargo carrier. In order to tow a trailer, you must use the ball mount attachment included with the towing kit. With the ball mount removed, the hitch will be completely hidden up underneath the bumper, so departure angle will not be affected.
