Question:
I have a 2018 forest river flagstaff a frame trailer. It has 5 on 4.5 hubs. I would like to convert it to 5 on 5 hubs. What parts do I need along with any parts for the brakes that would need to be changed. Thanks

Hey Neil! As long as there is a 5 on 5 hub available for your axle/bearing combination the swap will be pretty easy. We don't have a way of knowing what is on your 2018 Forest River Flagstaff so you will have to identify your axle or hubs first. The easiest thing to do is look at the axle tag. More than likely the capacity is listed, or at least the serial number and manufacturer. If you can tell me who makes it along with the serial number I will be able to identify it for you.
If I had to guess you have a 3,500 lb axle/axles on there now. If that is the case, you can use the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K. These use the standard 3,500 lb bearing combination with a # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearing. I'm assuming you already have brakes on there so you wouldn't have to do anything with the brakes unless you wanted to replace them with new ones. If that is the case, you can use the # AKEBRK-35-SA.

Hey Neil, were you able to check the axle tag on your Flagstaff to confirm the capacity and manufacturer? Once you found that info, did the 5 on 5 hub and brake setup work out the way you wanted? Your update could make it easier for others planning a similar hub swap.
