Looking For Suspension Upgrade Kit And Leaf Springs For A 2019 Grand Design Imagine 2500RL

Updated 07/30/2024 | Published 07/25/2024

Question:

I have a Grand Design Imagine 2500RL. I am looking to upgrade suspension with the MORyde equalizer and suspension kit. I will probably also be changing out the springs because the right side have become a little flat. Any help with part numbers or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Shackles are 2 1/4. Springs are 1 3/4inch and 35inch axle spacing.

Hello Lyn; I can definitely point you in the right direction of a new shackle kit and leaf springs for your 2019 Grand Design Imagine 2500RL. The 2-1/4" long shackles are pretty common and for that I recommend the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR46ZR. This comes with 2-1/4" long HD shackles, wet bolts and bronze bushings. These kits are super durable, and with proper maintenance will easily last the lifetime of your camper.

As far as the leaf springs, the best way to determine the correct replacement will be to measure one of the current springs. Jack up one side of the trailer so you can measure the springs when not under a load, then measure the spring from center-eye to center-eye across. Also while you are down there, check the axle tag and verify the weight capacity of each axle. If you can provide me with the length of your springs, and the weight capacity of each axle I can make certain that you get the correct springs.

Thanks for your reply Jesse. My springs measure 26" eye to eye. 13 1/8 from the center to the eye. The arch is 2 1/4". I know these springs are rated for 1750 lbs each. Would there be any advantage with going to a 4000 lb spring which would be 2K each. Thanks again.

@LynF Our best option for a 26" long spring is the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e22YR. This is a 2,000 lb spring so it will be a bit of an upgrade from your 1750 lb springs. If your old springs had flattened out a bit, upgrading the springs slightly will make for a more stable ride. Plus they should last longer.
