Correct Leaf Spring Recommendation for Dexter 3,500 lb Axle
Published 09/27/2017 >
Question:
My Shasta travel trailer has tandem Dexter Axles each with a 3500 lb. rating model SLR. The existing springs one of which broke are three leaf Dexter 72-24, which have a 2,000 lb. rating. Should I use e54SR 4-leaf 1750 lb. rating as replacement springs? Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
If you have 3,500 lb axles the best choice would be 3,500 lb springs so that you could take advantage of the full axle capacity (assuming the trailer is rated similarly).
The # e54SR is a great choice for you as it is a 3,500 lb axle leaf spring.
