I currently flat tow my 2017 Jeep Wrangler behind my motorhome using a set up provided by Etrailer that works great. Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar, base plate, Air Force 1 braking, and Jeep light plug and play connections. Im considering the purchase of a new Jeep Wrangler and would appreciate your expertise about flat towing a 4XE. Is it ok? What equipment is needed? How much different is it to set up compared to towing my current 6 speed standard transmission? Appreciate whatever info you can provide. Thanks, Joe T.

Hi Joe,
Yes, you can flat tow a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE - either the manual or auto transmission - and the set up as far as equipment is much the same as your '17 Wrangler. and you can easily still use your Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676.
For base plates what you need is the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521453-5, and the wiring will just depend on if you get the optional ParkSense system (which is a back-up/parking assist system). If you do NOT get ParkSense use Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152. If you DO get ParkSense you'll need the Roadmaster Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes # RM47ZR.
And then for your motorhome, because it is set up with the Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes # SM99243, you wouldn't need a whole new system, just the Second Vehicle Kit for Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System # SM99209.
