Question:

I sent a request a couple weeks ago asking what I would need to install the Blue Ox Ascent on my 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon I will need the tow bar, base plate and wiring harness. I would also like to install the Simco Airforce One braking system.

Hey Mark, so the correct Blue Ox base plate kit to use with the Blue Ox Ascent tow bar part # BX4375. is the part # BLU53FR.

For lighting you can use # C96JR, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing as this plugs inline with the taillight connectors.

Then for the braking system the Air Force One part # SM99243 would be what you would want and you'd be set.

Thank you Jameson, when quoted by local vendors they rattled off a lot of part numbers, so all I need is these three part numbers? Does this include safety chains? Which ball mount would I use the top of my ball with a straight mount is 22”. I would also like like to add a Hollywood bike rack that can be moved from my RV to my Jeep what receiver would I use to accommodate the rack and Blue Ox?

@Mark The 4 part numbers I mentioned basically cover everything and the tow bar I mentioned comes with safety chains. To allow you to use the tow bar and your bike rack you'd also want the part # RM-077-2.

@JamesonC You mention 4 part numbers I only see 3. Here is what I need: 1) Blue Ox Ascent tow bar 2) Blue Ox base plate for 290 Jeep Gladiator 3) Wiring harness for coach to Jeep 4) Airforce One braking system for air brakes on RV to Jeep 5) Hitch mount to enable bike rack and Blue Ox 6) Receiver on RV is 3” will I need an adaptor or sleeve or is the ball mount 3”. The straight ball mount on the RV measures 22” from the ground to the top of ball. I assume I will need an adjustable ball mount. 7) Hollywood 2 bike rack for 65# e-bikes.

@MarkB in first answer I linked the following four part numbers: Blue Ox Ascent tow bar part # BX4375. Base Plate kit part # BLU53FR. Curt Lightng # C96JR Air Force One part # SM99243 Then for a dual hitch adapter you' want the part # RM-077-2 I mentioned in second response. For a 3 inch to 2 inch adapter you would need the part # e33YR Then for a Hollywood Racks E-Bike rack that can handle a 65 lb bike you would want the part # HLY64FR.
