Question:
I get a message pop up that this base plate will not fit my 2022 Bronco 2 door with the modular bumper. I am not aware of any difference between the 2021 and 2022 models for modular bumper. Also what is the best wiring option for both flat dingy tow with my RV and for trailering with the Bronco non LED pulling a trailer.

Curt Manufacturing shows the Custom Base Plate Kit, # C59JR to fit the 2021 Ford Bronco but they do not list it as a fit for the 2022 model year. In addition, this base plate option is limited to only being used with the Curt Rambler Steel Tow Bar for Curt and Blue Ox Base Plates, # C26FR. While this is a decent tow bar option, we have several options that are better and can be used with a wider selection of base plates.
My recommendation for your 2022 Ford Bronco with Ford Performance Heavy Duty Modular Bumper is as follows:
- Base Plate Kit, Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM92ZR
- Tow Bar, Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520
- Wiring Solution, RoadMaster Falcon 2 All-Terrain Combo Towing Kit with Straight Wiring, # RM-9243-1
- Supplemental Braking, Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO w/ Wireless Coachlink Monitor, # DM86VR along with battery charge line kit for towed vehicles, # RM-156-25
You may or may not need a high/low adapter. Once the tow bar is connected between the Bronco and your motorhome, you want it to set at +/- 3" of level. This is to minimize excessive wear on the suspension components and tires. I have linked a help article that walks through the needed steps to measure and identify the correct adapter if needed.
And lastly, the requested recommendation for trailer wiring for your 2022 Bronco without LED taillights, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # TK33VR.
