I would be happy to help you get set up to tow your trailer with brakes. Starting with a hitch I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63ZR. This is a custom fit Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 6,000 lbs and tongue weight of 900 lbs. The hitch has a matte black powder coat finish and is made in the USA.
In order to add 7-way wiring I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 22124. This wiring harness will plug into your existing tow connector so no cutting or splicing is required. When it comes to wiring we have found Tekonsha to be the most reliable.
For a ball mount, I like the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
The last thing you need is a brake controller. Check out the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR. The main unit of this proportional brake controller mounts out of sight, with the control knob mounting in the dash. This lets you keep a clean look in the cab of your truck without a brake controller in the way. The knob adjusts the braking power and also acts as the manual override.
I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
