What hitch receiver and wiring setup do I need for a 2021 Jeep Cherokee Latitude?

For a trailer hitch for your 2021 Jeep Cherokee, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit # e73ZR. The etrailer hitch is a great economical choice; it also provides you with 675 pounds of maximum tongue weight and 4,500 pounds of gross towing weight capacity. As far as installation, the hitch comes with all hardware included for a bolt-on installation.

If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56406 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.

If you are looking to add a brake controller to the trailer, you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7 in addition to the T-One.

To add a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 or the Curt Echo # C51180. Both of these controllers are proportional controllers which means that the controller activates the trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action. The Voyager is more of a traditional-style controller than requires mounting into the dashboard of your vehicle near the steering wheel. On the other hand, the Curt Echo allows you to control the settings of your controller with the ease of your Smart device.
