Question:
Hi, I just purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with baseplate eTrailer SKU e98951 installed. This week Order 125808633, I ordered BLU28QV Avail BX7421 and DM86MV tabs from you. Everything hooked up fine except the safety cables, which have a large hooks on each end. The hooks cannot fully seat in their intended place when the tabs are installed. I dont know if this is a problem only with this new tow bar, as in, did BX7420 have this problem? Ive read that a quick-link solution may work BX229-0512, but I cannot find it on your site other than a video. Can you recommend a solution? I wonder if Blue Ox aware of this incompatibility. Thanks, Tom Nelson

Hi Tom,
Welcome back! I'm glad to hear that your flat tow install has gone smoothly so far!
The Blue Ox Quick Link # BX229-0512 is no longer available, which is why only the video is visible and not the product page. All the product videos stay live on our Youtube channel even if we no longer offer the part that people can use them for installations and other info.
Thankfully, Roadmaster has their version of the Blue Ox Quick Link with the same 10,000lb break strength, the Roadmaster Quick Links for Safety Cables part # RM-910022. Some base plates have thicker or recessed base plate loops that make the safety cable hooks difficult to install or sit funny like what you're experiencing.
How are you liking the Blue Ox products so far? I know you were considering Roadmaster at first, both are excellent quality products.

Hi Claire, Thanks for recommending RM-910022. I see the working load limit is 2,200 lb per link, despite the advertised 10,000 lb breaking strength, so I had initially bypassed them (I was comparing WLL instead of breaking strength). I understand that these are "just" safety cables, but I want to ensure I'm getting the right product. Can you confirm these are approved for connecting my BX7421 safety cables to the e98951 baseplate on my 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk, including the clearance around the DM86MV tabs? As for the other Blue Ox products I ordered, I'm very happy with their quality!
