Question:
Hi there, As you can see from the pics attached, the brakes on our boat trailer are completely gone. All I can pull off the original bill of sale for this trailer is it is a Roadrunner 8,500 dual axle trailer, built here in Vancouver, BC. I stopped after noting down the outer bearing part number is 15123 but I am hoping you can help guide me towards a suitable replacement for drum brakes, bearings, seals and likely races. This trailer probably has 50 miles on it tops. It was used only in the marina to haul out twice a year and I made an attempt to rinse it out but only bothered to pull the hubs today. Anyway let me know what else I can measure, etc, to help this along. Thanks

I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-D. The dacromet-coated backing plates are corrosion resistant which is ideal for a boat trailer. Both left and right hand sides are included with the kit.
The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-G-K has a galvanized finish to also prevent corrosion. It will include new bearings, races, grease seal, dust cap and lug nuts. The Outer Bearing # 15123 matches the one you already checked. It will use Inner Bearing # 25580 which as a 1.750" inside diameter. And the Grease Seal # GS-2250DL will fit the 2.250 spindle. The wheel lug pattern is a 6 on 5-1/2". Be sure to check those measurements to ensure correct fitment on your Roadrunner Trailer.
The Grease Seal # GS-2125DL is may need to replace the grease seal that comes with the hub assembly. This seal has a inside diameter of 2.125".
The Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors # BB2441SS will serve as a replacement for the dust cap and will allow you to add grease to your bearings without having to remove the hub. It is also stainless steel to prevent corrosion.
Be sure to use LubriMatic LMX Industrial Strength Grease # L11390 as the formula is water insoluble, and corrosion resistant.
