This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today we're going to take a look at the 12" galvanized trailer hub and drum assembly for 5,200 pound to 6,000 pound axles. This has the six on five and a half inch bolt pattern. This trailer hub and drum assembly will include the bearing races, which are all pre-installed to the outer bearing race, right here and the inner right back here. It also has the bearings, both the inner and the outer bearings, the grease seal, the grease cap, and the lug nuts. This hub and drum is designed to work with both electric and hydraulic brakes. It has a galvanized finish on it and that's for corrosion resistance. The galvanized finished is usually used in a lot of marine applications.
This is designed to fit on a 5,200 pound to 6,000 pound axles. Again, the bolt pattern is a six on fife and a half inch diameter bolt pattern. The drum dimension on this is 12x2". When they give that dimension, what they're measuring is the 12" would be the diameter of the inside of the drum. Then, the 2" will be the width of it.
If we take the ruler and we go inside to inside, you can see right at 12". Then if we measure the width, you can see right at 2", so 12x2" drum dimension. The inner bearing, which is the larger of the two, that's part number 25580. It has an inside diameter of 1.750. That would go right on to the inner bearing race, just like that. Then your grease seal, which has an overall diameter of 3.376, would go right there and tapped into place to hold that in. The outer bearing, which is the smaller of the two, that's part number 15123.
These numbers are stamped on the bearing themselves, it goes on the outer bearing race, right here. Then your zinc plated grease cap has a flanged diameter of 2.446. That would tap right in there and cover that up. For this video, I'm just showing you where the parts are located on the hub and drum assembly. Of course, when you go to install these, you will have to pack grease into the bearings before installation.
It does come with the six lug nuts. They're half inch by twenty size and these lug nuts are what will hold your wheel and tire assembly to the hub and drum. Once you put your wheel and tire assembly up on the studs, put your lugs on there and then torch them down to the correct specs for your application. That should do it for the review of the 12" galvanized trailer hub and drum assembly for 5,200 pound to 6,000 pound axles with the six on five and a half inch bolt pattern.

Galvanized hub-and-drum assembly is ideal for marine use. Compatible with electric or hydraulic brakes. Fits 6,000-lb axles. Inner bearing (25580) and race, outer bearing (15123) and race, grease seal, grease cap, and lug nuts included.I needed to upgrade my boat trailer from free-wheeling spindles to electric brakes because my new tow vehicle has a 5,000 pound tow rating only if the trailer has brakes. I selected the galvanized hub and drum assembly because the brakes will be immersed in fresh water when launching the boat and I want to maximize the rust and corrosion resistance. These drums are solid, heavy construction. After packing the bearings with marine grade grease I installed the hub and drum assemblies, torqued the axle nut and adjusted the brake tension. These are excellent quality brake drums.
Good value, arrived quickly using the standard free shipping in spite of the significant weight, inner bearing races already pressed in, zinc plating looks adequate to reduce rusting, fit my axles perfectly
Again, extremely awesome process and products! Thank you!
excellent services love it
