My vehicle I want to tow behind my Class C RV is an 02 GMC Sonoma 2 wheel drive. The tow bar I have is a Reese 74943. Are these baseplates compatible with this tow bar? If so, are they all I need or do I need some type of adapter for them as well? Thanks for your help.

The Reese tow bar 74943 is now an obsolete tow bar so I cannot say if it is a direct fit or if an adapter will allow it to be used with the Roadmaster base plates. There is an adapter for similar tow bars, # RM-025, but we have it listed as fitting specific tow bars (Draw-Tite (2480), Reese (74950), Valley, EAZ-Lift and Tow Ready (63180)).
The best and safest option is to match the base plates and tow bar. Base plates # 161-1 are designed for the 2002 GMC Sonoma, 2-wheel drive, ZR2 and Xtreme models. If you do not have a ZR2 or Xtreme then use # 161-2. For either set the most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. For a more economical tow bar you could use # RM-020. It has a 5k capacity and if you are using base plates # 161-1 then you would also want quick disconnects # RM-201 to make the arms easily removable.
You will also need safety cables like # RM-643 and a lighting solution. For a quick lighting solution that bypasses the vehicle wiring so you do not have to tap into it, I recommend the magnetic kit # RM-2120.
Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest to set up and use is the Even Brake # RM-9400 proportional system. It applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
