I want to put a hitch on my 2018 3 hatchback. I would like to use the highest rated one that will fit.

All of the hitches made for your 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback are rated the same, for 300-lbs of tongue weight (TW) and 2000-lbs towing capacity. But these are available in two receiver sizes, both 1-1/4-inch like # 24914 from Draw-Tite and # C11377 from Curt, and also 2-inch like the EcoHitch # 306-X7305 that you referenced in your question.

If you already own accessory bike and cargo carriers that fit one particular size hitch then you might a well stick with that same size for the hitch. But if you don't already own such items then I suggest going with the 1-1/4-inch Class I Draw-Tite # 24914 since it offers the easiest no-drill installation.

You can see the install process in the linked video and the included photo shows the clean appearance of this hitch once it is bolted on.

Many accessory bike and cargo carriers are designed to fit both hitch sizes, such as the Thule EasyFold platform bike rack # TH903202 and the Curt cargo carrier # C18110. If you are in need of such carriers I recommend these since they will be usable even on other future vehicles that might have the other hitch size.
