Recommended Trailer Wiring and is Support Strap Needed for etrailer.com Hitch on 2019 Honda CR-V

Question:
Hey there have 2 questions. First I see on other pages that a strap is needed with certain hitches for a bike rack and things. Is that required for the etrailer hitch on my 2019 Honda CR-V? Also please recommend a trailer wiring harness. Thank you.

The etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # E98848 for your 2019 Honda CR-V does not require a stabilizing strap when using it with accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier. This is indeed a requirement on certain Curt hitches but this is not the case with the etrailer.com models.
This is a really nice Class III hitch with a concealed design, a 3,500 pound towing weight capacity, and a 525 pound tongue weight limit. This is exactly the hitch I would have recommended for your CR-V.
I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference as well.
Then for a trailer wiring harness I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118741 because it offers the easiest install as well as the highest amp capacity. This custom harness will simply plug into a factory port behind the driver side trim panel of your CR-V to provide you with a 4-Way connector to power a trailer's basic signal lights.
I have again attached an installation video that you can check out.
