Is There a 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid Hitch That Doesn't Require Fascia Cutting?

Updated 01/27/2026 | Published 06/29/2025

Question:

Is there a hitch for 2026 CRV Hybrid that I can mount myself that will not require me to cut a small part of the fascia/plastic? Do I need to lower my exhaust on hybrid?

Hey Erica, thanks for reaching out!

Since your 2026 Honda CR-V is a Hybrid we're a bit limited on the hitch options, and you'll need to get one that does require some fascia cutting. For this, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98848 because it has a matte black finish that lasts better than the classic glossy finish we see on other hitches. You will also need to lower your exhaust in order to install the hitch - but this is pretty much a standard nowadays.

I know trimming the fascia can be a bit intimidating, but I'm attaching a photo from the instructions that shows the cutout, as well as an installation video we made that you can follow along. If you're still not comfortable, I'm attaching a link to our installer locator tool that you can use to see what shops in your area do hitch installs and business with us if you'd rather have a shop install it for you.

What are you planning on using the hitch for?

Hey Erica, did you decide to install the hitch yourself or go with a shop? I'm asking because your experience could really help others who are considering a similar installation.

Does this modification void any transmission warranty in the future?

@Ds The car manufacturer would have to prove that any modification you made was the direct cause for whatever issue you're having. The only issues you may run into is if you are leasing the vehicle. From my understanding the vehicle has to be in the same condition it left in.
