Features to know about

Add Real Utility to Your Vehicle: 3,500 lbs GTW and 525 lbs TW Capacity

With a Class III rating, this hitch is built to handle what most people tow or carry every day. The 2" x 2" receiver works for bike racks, cargo carriers, and small trailers. It’s rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 525 lbs. So whether you’re hauling a small camper, a utility trailer, or a couple of e-bikes, this hitch has the capacity to get it done safely.

Keep It Simple: Bolt-On Installation with No Welding Required

This fully welded hitch receiver bolts right onto the frame using factory attachment points. There’s no drilling or welding needed. The complete hardware kit and installation instructions come in the box, so most people can get it installed at home with standard tools. It’s designed for a precision fit that lines up cleanly for a straightforward install.

Built to Last: Matte Black Powder Coat Over Protective Base Coat

The steel construction is covered in a matte black powder coat over a protective base layer for maximum corrosion resistance. The finish doesn’t just protect against rust—it also hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than glossy coatings. The result is a rugged look that blends in with the vehicle’s trim and holds up through years of towing and road grime.

Comparison of matte carbide black powder coat finish versus glossy black finish on trailer hitch surfaces, showing texture and shine differences for etrailer Class III hitch.

Close-up comparison showing matte carbide versus glossy black trailer hitch finishes, highlighting light reflection and texture differences for etrailer hitch.

Clean Look Under the Bumper: Concealed Cross Tube Design

Once it’s installed, only the square receiver tube is visible. The concealed cross tube keeps the underside tidy with a more OEM-like appearance while still giving full access to the hitch opening. It’s a solid way to add capability without sacrificing style or ground clearance.

Easy install, if you are okay with dismounting the facia on your vehicle, Great product

by:

The hitch was great as has been all the products I have purchased from Etrailer.

by:

Instructions were very clear. Did it by myself on ramps (not easy). Everything lined up good. Guide wires totally necessary. Give yourself an extra 1/4 clearance on trimming the rear bumper panel. You'll thank me later!

by:

The hitch was delivered today. The Hitch went in with ease, everything lined up as it should. The video instructions and the paper instructions for cutting the bumper are not as clear as they could be. Fortunately I am a retired professional mechanic and smog technician. I just held the hitch up to the CRV and was able to see where to cut and how much. Other than that, it installed without any problems. The Drawtite hitch 76128 did not fit. Thank you etrailer for making my wife happy.

It is everything we hoped it would be, we have been to a lot of places and have felt very secure knowing our Bosch E-bikes are safe.

by:

it’s been a year since I got my etrailer hitch receiver: the installation was relatively easy. In fact, I had originally tried to get a Honda tow hitch not only was it more expensive, but it was much more cumbersome for installment, which is why I had returned it and then purchased the etrailer hitch.. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking to add a hitch to their SUV. My particular model fit my 2025 Honda CRV..

by:

Great trailer hitch! Removing the 2 rubber isolaters to lower the exahust proved to be a big challenge. I had the strap set up to prevent the exhaust from getting damaged but the exhaust barely lowered when I removed the 2 isolaters. I did not need the strap and not sure why the etrailer video showed different. This made accessing the holes for fishing and securing the bolts a real challenge on my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid. I was able to reinstall the rear isolater but needed to take the car to a muffler shop to reinstall the front isolater.I followed instructions of lubricating the isolaters and although it helped a bit, it was still a real challenge.

by:

The hitch is good quality and fits perfectly. Just got it installed at one of etrailer's recommended installers and they did a great job. Used the hitch this past weekend and worked great. Very pleased.

by:

I attempted to purchase a hitch from Amazon. First one was pushed out over a month. Second one came, but all chipped up and had no packaging. Dont order anything from amazon! They are bad! Called etrailer and they did everything that you would expect. Class act, great service!

by:

Clear instructions and holding up very well. I've been putting hitches of various brands on cars since 2000 and will likely get an etrailer next time.

Working perfect carrying 1-2 mountain bikes and a 1-Up trailer.

by:

Looks great and does the job perfectly to carry e bikes. Had an etrailer preferred installer do the work. I am completely satisfied with the quality of the hitch. Would absolutely recommend. I just might purchase another one for the wife’s car. Etrailer never disappoints.

by:

It fit perfectly on our 2024 CR-V hybrid. Other folk’s helpful hints made the difference because I did it by myself. It can be done!
Thanks to the person that said cut a smidge wider & deeper and hold it up there using the tow hook bolt.
Ramps provided just the right amount of room. Exhaust hangers are a pain. Use plenty of silicone spray and wear gloves!

by:

The first hitch was bent. They exchanged it, but the second one still didn't fit right. We had to bolt one side and use a pry bar to get it aligned on the right side of the hitch bolt before the other bolts lined up. It shouldn't have been that hard. Took 2 hours. Our 2020 CRV went on no problem, 45 mins. I think it's an engineering problem.

by:

Great product easy install the video they have really helped giving 4 stars as the finished was a little scuffed up when it arrived other than that I’d highly recommend.

by:

The product has good quality, delivery was on time, and the assembly instruction video was easy to understand. I will definitely recommend etrailer to my friends.
Thank you etrailer.

You're very welcome, I'm happy we could help!

by:

The main component is great but I have one issue with one of the attachment bolts spinning. I’m not sure why, but am suspicious of the carriage bolt not licking into the square hole properly. Are the plates hard enough steel? It torqued down pretty well but I couldn’t hit 60 lbs. I left it in for now as I’m just using it for a bike rack but if I could get a replacement that would be great. The other thing is the instructions for a crv hybrid. It seems like the trim cutting of 1.375 isn’t enough. Probably needs anther .25 or .375 inch

by:

My second etrailer hitch and am very happy with it. Did the install myself, which has its challenges, but can be done with a little patience and elbow grease.

In hindsight I should have moved the tailgate kick sensor as some people recommended. It still works but takes a little extra patience to activate. Otherwise 1010, would buy again.

@Jc really appreciate you coming back with the one year update. It’s great to hear the hitch has held up well for you and that the install paid off, even with a bit of elbow grease involved. That’s a really helpful callout on the kick sensor too. It’s one of those small details that can make a difference day to day, and your experience will definitely help others decide whether they want to relocate it during install or leave it as is. Glad to hear it’s still working, even if it takes a little extra patience, and sounds like overall it’s been a solid setup for you. What are you using the hitch for?

by:

Installation is just like the video and instructions. This CRV has dual exhausts, not a big deal. I thought fishing the wires and hardware thru the frame was going to be a problem, NOT, it was very easy. Bolted right up per the advertisement. Joshua responded to every question within a few minutes. great guy, great company.

by:

Just as described. Instructions were accurate. Easy to install on my 25 CRV with no drilling - just bolts on. No need to move the tailgate foot sensor. Perfect for my mountain bike habit.

This hitch has been the perfect addition to my 25 CRV hybrid. I have had no issues with it. I keep a 1UP rack on it all the time and it doesn’t interfere with the tailgate sensor at all. I am very pleased with it.

by:

Really like that it’s mostly hidden behind the bumper cover. I made my own measurements instead of relying solely on the diagram but instructions were clear and quality was very good.

Glad to hear the hidden design worked out well for you, it really does make for a clean look Joseph. Sounds like your extra measuring paid off too, and it’s great the install went smoothly with solid quality all around. What are you planning to use the hitch for?

by:

Amazing. Thank you! I was able to attach the cargo carrier to the back of my suv. I’m ready for adventures now!

by:

2nd time purchasing this hitch (purchased b4 for a 2019 CRV). Shipping was quick and hitch was well packaged. Works and fits great. Install was not bad (I installed solo) because etrailer has excellent videos. 2025 CRV has 2 L brackets under bumper facia which helped support hitch while installing bolts.

After a year of use the hitch is working great. The paint coating is still intact with no signs of rust. This is my 2nd hitch sold previous vehicle and both held up great. Will always seek out etrailer for future needs

by:

This hitch fits perfectly on my 2026 CR-V Sport-L AWD Hybrid. It has very close tolerances, but once it is in place, it tightens down nicely. I was not disappointed. Over the years, I have bought several trailer hitch receivers from etrailer, and they all have been great. This one did not disappoint.

by:

Installation when extremely well took about 30 minutes, hitch is really good quality shipping was great

by:

This is the 4th hitch I've purchased from Etrailer over the years. I had originally paid a lot more last year to have the dealer install a hitch on our new 2026 CR-V Hybrid, but had to have it taken back off since it wasn't the 2" receiver they had promised. We needed one quickly and Etrailer delivered, both the hitch and a recommendation on a place to get it installed quickly.

It is only used to carry our e-bikes (bike carrier also from Etrailer), and have carried them up and down the east coast and as far away as Texas from our home in Ohio.

by:

I bought this trailer hitch recover online. It arrived at my door a few days later. I took it to Jensen Tire and Service and had it installed a couple of days later on my 2026 Honda CRV sport touring hybrid. It looks and fits perfectly. I didn’t have electrical installed because I’m only using it for a dual bike rack.
