Are Chrome Trim Rings and Foam Gaskets Reqired for Replacement Side Marker Lights for Boat Trailer

Im looking to purchase your LED lights #s MCL13A2B and MCL13R2B for my boat trailer. Is the Polished Chrome Ring for MCL13 Series LED lights required for mounting these lights or just for the chrome look? What purpose does the foam gasket serve?

The polished chrome ring, # A13C2B, is not required for mounting the sealed mini side marker lights, # MCL13A2B and # MCL13R2B. This is decorative trim ring only.
The foam gasket, # A13G2B, would be used if these lights are mounted on the outside of an enclosed trailer, to keep out water and road grime. The foam gasket also provides some cushioning that may increase the life of the side marker lights. For your boat trailer the foam gasket would not be required but might be a good idea if you travel with the boat a lot.
