Question:
I have what I think is a vintage Reese or Curt ball mount. Numbers on it are WD555520-G. I would like to replace the spring bars. I cant find any information on this mount and Im not sure if the bars I have are correct. My travel trailer has max weight of 6000lbs so Im looking for at least 800 lbs bars. Are there any newer TRUNION BARS that will fit also these are about 29 in. and I need longer bars. Thanks for your help.

The head in the picture is the Reese # RP54980 however the trunnion spring bars to fit are no longer available.
Unfortunately, your best bet may be to replace the entire system.
If an 800 pound rated system is enough for you I recommend the Fastway e2 # FA92-00-1000. It uses brackets for the spring bars so you don't need to mess with chains. You'll need a hitch ball to go with it so use # 63840 for a 2-5/16 inch ball or # EQ91-00-6080 for a 2 inch ball.
With that being said you may need to go up in weight rating. When choosing a system you want to go by your trailer's loaded tongue weight which should be between 10 to 15 percent of its tongue weight. You'll also want to add in any weight you add behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. If this exceeds the 800 pounds the e2 also comes in a 1,000 pound system # FA92-00-0800. The same hitch balls will work with this system.
