The gooseneck hitch I recommend for your 2012 F-150 is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1104. This includes a custom installation kit and when the ball is removed or dropped into the hole gives you complete bed access. The nice thing about this hitch is that you can install a fifth wheel hitch like the Companion # BWRVK3500 if you ever want to tow a fifth wheel trailer in the future.

With the 5-1/2 ft bed on your truck, you will need an extender like the B&W Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler, part # BWTEXA4200. This gives you an additional 10 inches of clearance between the truck cab and your trailer.

The brake controller I recommend is the P3 # 90195. This is one of our best selling controllers because it is easy to set up and operate. The plug-in adapter you can use is part # 22292. In the video the plug is shown beneath the dash and if that is not where your plug is I have attached a photo that shows where the truck adapter can be found behind the instrument cluster panel.

To install a 7-way connector you will need part # 37185. This attaches to your 4-way and additional # 10-1-1 wire will need to be run the Blue brake wire to the front of the truck as shown in the video. You can order part # 10-1-1 by the foot. As in the video, 20 ft will be plenty of wire.

To secure the 7-way you can use the no-drill bracket, part # C57202.

When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
