Trailer Jack and Coupler Recommendation for Featherlite Bumper Pull Trailer

Question:
We have a very similar if not same tho likely older 2 horse bumper pull Featherlite trailer as used in the demo for this Bulldog coupler. The coupler and jack are old and rusted and would like to replace both. I can no longer read the labels on the coupler or jack. The BD44150WH301 coupler looks ideal. What would the appropriate Jack be for this trailer? 3000 or 5000lbs? We live near the Gulf coast in FLorida so Zinc coated is very appealing. Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Bulldog coupler part # BD44150WH301 is a really great choice for your Featherlite trailer. It'll be very reliable and easy to use so you'll really like it. Then for an a-frame jack we have the zinc coated etrailer A-Frame Round Jack # TJA-5000S-B which has a 5,000 lb capacity. Like I mentioned this has the zinc coating you are wanting which will fight corrosion and has more capacity than you'll need which means it will raise and lower easily. Trailer jacks are rated for their lifting capacity so for a trailer that weighs 5,000 lbs like yours you'd have a tongue weight of right at 500 lbs. This jack having a 5,000 lb capacity means it will be very easy to use when needed.
