Question:
I have a 2007 Nomad 171 Trailer. This is a 2 axle trailer, UVW 3380, GVWR 6150, Tires ST205/75R14 A wheel bearing failed and damaged the brake and hub. The spindle looks OK except the threads were slightly damaged and I think I can clean that up. There is a label on the brake assembly that reads: B10E-01 Axletek-10-GG CSA STD CAN3-D313-M85 Date 12/2005 LEFT HAND 6 I need the complete brake assembly, hub, bearings, seal plus type of grease and torque requirement. And anything else your experience dictates. Can you help?

Based on the brake number you have provided you will need 10 x 2-1/4 inch brakes # AKEBRK-35L for the left side. Brakes should be replaced in pairs so they wear evenly so the matching right side is # AKEBRK-35R.
For the hubs it appears that you have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. I believe that the hubs for this size axle use inner bearing L68149 and outer bearing L44649. You can check the bearings in one of the other hubs to verify this. Based on this information hub and drum assembly # AKHD-545-35-K is the correct fit. The bearings, races, and seal are already included.
For grease you can use wheel bearing grease # L11380. Before adding any new grease to old parts make sure the old grease is completely removed or there could be compatibility issues causing the grease to break down.
As far as torque values go on a 1/2 inch lug nut with a steel or aluminum wheel 8 inch up to 14 inch you will torque the lug nuts to 75 to 85 foot pounds. But on the castle nut holding the hub to the spindle there isn't a specific torque value. You will tighten the nut then back it off and repeat this process. The last time you do it you will only back off the nut enough for the cotter pin to slip through at the next opening.
