Video Transcript for Complete Breakdown of the etrailer 7-Way RV Style Connector with Molded Cable

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the six-foot long 7-Way RV Style Connector with the molded cable for your trailer end. Now, this is a pre-wired seven-way blade style trailer end connector that'll let you connect your trailer to your vehicle. This will replace a damaged seven-way RV style trailer end connector. It has a nice flexible cable, so it allows for easy positioning. And it is a molded cable. The covering insulates and protects the wires from the elements.

You'll notice it has the nice finger grip for easy connect and disconnect of the cable to your seven-way socket. And this wire does meet the SAE standards. It's a very simple installation. On this end, you just hardwire this to your existing trailer wiring. And the wiring codes they use are RV standard. So basically the white wire here is for ground.

That's a 10 gauge size. The black is for the 12 volt power, which is a 10 gauge size. The blue wire right here is for electric brakes, 12 gauge size. And then the other four remaining ones are all 14 gauge size. The green is for the tail lights.

Yellow is for aux or reverse lights. The brown is for right turn and stop. And the red is for left turn and stop. Again, the cable length on this is six feet. But that should do it for the review on the etrailer six-foot long 7-Way RV Style Connector with the molded cable for your trailer end..

Very high quality trailer whip. I like how the plug is sealed tightly to the cable. It appears to be water tight. Makes swapping out damaged cables very easy, when connected into a junction box. I like to preserve the contact finish by spraying with a battery protector product yearly. My only complaint is the cable gets very stiff in the cold.

I can always count on e trailer to have the product needed.

Ordered Friday and had the part by Monday without paying for expedited shipping. The new wire harness colors matched my previous harness exactly. Install was very easy, will take the trailer out later to test the harness and my wiring. Overall very simple/quality replacement if you have a damaged wire harness

by:

The wire colours don’t match the standard 7 Pin Wiring Diagrams.

by:

I used this harness to replace portion of wire harness on the tongue end of my boat trailer. Great quality product. Made it easy to go from a 5 pin to a 7 way and eliminate the need for an adapter.

by:

Great condition. I was hoping that there would be a code identifying each wires function.

by:

Shipping was horrible. Product was okay. Friend with me now when I received it. He just ordered one for himself. We’ll see how bad his shipping is with y’all

by:

Perfect for the job at hand

by:

by:

Just as described. Seems to be good qua lity.

by:

This will allow me to repair a damaged wire

by:

As expected original replacement but was even heavier duty than original.

by:

Dont understand why the wire color did not match the standard trailer colors. Yes it came with a wire drawing but why not standard?

by:

Showed up at my door one day earlier than expected. I did spend a few minutes checking the functions with the wire colors. After that it Took me 15 minutes to get it wired up. Lights and breaks are working now.

by:

I ordered the Connector on the 27th, delivered on the 29th. Does not get much better than that. Thank you

by:

Just what I needed, with a nice diagram for wiring.

by:

Received exactly what I ordered! Thanks

by:

The cable main power and ground is not gage. Should be 8 gage. I would exchange or return it. Thank You

When you go to plug in a new 7 way like the one you got, it can really take some muscling up to get it to go in all the way. If you try again, it may take two hands to get it to go. If that still doesn't work, can you send me a picture of the face of the plug and a face of the connector on your truck, too?

Item was just as described.

  • What Wire Is Needed To Add Electric Drum Brake Assemblies To A Trailer
Hey Jared, When installing electric trailer brake assemblies you'll want to run 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 from the junction box back to the brake assemblies. This will be you power to the brake assemblies and you can just run the other wire from the assemblies to the frame with a ring terminal # 44-5310A and self-tapping screw for ground. If your trailer doesn't already have a junction box # e99009 and 7-way cable # e99010 then you'll want to pick those up as well. I've attached a help...

  • Replacement Wiring for a Palomino B-1200 Truck Bed Camper
Hey Guy, I wasn't able to pin down what exact wiring came on your Palomino camper, but generally the in-bed truck campers use a 7-Way so they are able to provide power to all of the lights as well as any power that the camper requires to operate. To replace a 7-Way you can use the Replacement Connector # e99010 along with Butt Connectors # DW05744-5 and # DW05745-5 to get all of your wiring connected. You'll want to connect the wires by function as opposed to by color. Let me know if...

  • Parts Needed To Convert An EZ Loader Boat Trailer From Surge To Electric Brakes
Hi Cindy, Are you wanting to transition to electric drum brakes or would you just like to switch to an electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) setup that you'd be able to use a brake controller? If you want to switch to electric drum brakes you'll need to know the axle capacity and bearing/grease seal combination for your spindle. You'll need to switch to electric drum brake assemblies, use hub/drum assemblies, will need a 7-way cable # e99010 and junction box # e99009, breakaway battery and...

Hello Ralh, The etrailer 7-Way RV Style Connector with Molded Cable - Trailer End - 6' Long - RV Standard # e99010 has three different gauge wires in the cable. • Adding Brakes to 2024 Master Tow model 77T
Hi Thomas; does the 2024 Master Tow model 77T have brake flanges on it? Assuming it does, you will also have to identify the spindles/bearings it uses. If it doesn't, you will have to add a brake flange. I would check with the manufacturer to make sure this is approved. If it is set up for brakes it is probably a 4-bolt brake flange. If I had to guess, it also likely has a #84 spindle with # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearings. Assuming that is correct, you can use the Trailer Hub...
