Video Transcript for Replacement Lift Motor for Maxx Fan Plus Roof Vent Spec Review

Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the replacement lift motor for your MaxxFan Plus roof vent. So if something's happened with that roof vent, it's gotten damaged, or it's just not working anymore, but you don't want to replace the whole thing. Everything else is working just fine. This is a way to keep that fan working for many more years without having to take out that whole unit and replace it with a completely new fan unit system. So let's take a closer look and make sure it's the right fit.

Just has this little plug that goes into the connection to the rest of the fan. And we'll have our two arms to connect into those mechanisms to lift and lower that vent lid. Works with several different models of fans. The list of those is on our product page here at etrailer.com so you can check with that to make sure that yours is a match for it. And this will be for obviously the electric fans, not the manual. It does not come with any mounting hardware so you will need to reuse the mounting hardware from the original to get this in place.

But that's really about all there is to it for our look at the replacement lift motor for your MaxxFan Plus roof vent. Hope this video's been helpful in deciding if this is the right part for you. We do have a lot of other replacement parts available here at etrailer.com and we also do have new fan units as well. So if you need to go down that road, we got you covered. Thanks for watching..

A year after install, the new motor is working great. It was an easy DIY and etrailer was great shipping fast and providing support to order the right product the first time! Will certainly return.

by:

This part was a direct fit for me. Solved my problem. I've purchased numerous parts from etrailer and always had good results. Thanks for having so many specialty rv parts that seem difficult to find.

MaxxFan is working great.

Hard to replace, but works well

by:

Another quality product from China, this one is already leaking oil just like the other 2019 motor. Oh well etrailer is still a fantastic place to do business unfortunately the RV industry builds junk.

My husband and myself installed this ourselves and went exactly as planned and continues to work well one year later. Glad we couldn’t find someone to do this for us. Would have cost us so much more because they wanted to replace the whole A/C unit!

It’s been a year and the fan not AC as I said in error in my original post is working great. So glad we did this ourselves!

Its working perfectly! A good Experience with etrailer!

by:

Well they are replacement parts, So there's not much to say about them except I'm Glad there was a "used" option for 1 of the items to help with the cost. My disappointment is with the MaxxAir fan that REQUIRED these parts after only just over 2 years with LOW use hours! MaxxAir really needs a better warranty for such a (supposedly) top of the line fan with a Top Price to go along with it! Or maybe offer the parts at a lower price point! I struggled with the decision of buying the parts or just getting a whole new fan! I opted for the parts ONLY because of the extra work it would have been to remove the calking & mounting bracket stuff. As it was I still had to do some pretty involved disassembly & R&R work to replace BOTH a bad lift motor AND broken ( Pot metal) Operator Mechanism!!! NOT impressed with my Maxxair roof vent AT ALL!!!!

by:

Thanks for the update and nice comments.
You
companies service has been great.

I bought a operator mechanism last year thru Amazon and other supplier.
It failed after 2 weeks but I didn't install it till 30days had passed and my claim was refused.
Reading reviews these units seem to be very unreliable.

I chose ETrailer re stock, price and the 60 day term hoping it might be made better.

I went on the roof to install my 1st order from you and found it looked the same.
I couldn't see a problem with the one I had. Installed yours and guess what, it wouldn't work either.
My neighbor has lots of experience with these fans.
Explained how the motor works and how high voltage (friction) is how it stops.

My knob has been very tight to move manually.
So it turns out my 2013 motor is the issue. He had a spare and loaned it to me and everything now works the way it should and the knob and gears are easy to turn.
My second order is to replace his and I will now have a spare for my second fan that will be a 2013 original.
10 years life on the 7500 Deluxe unit isn't something I'll complain about.

Thought this might be of interest to you.

by:

Fast and accurate.

by:

The motor arrived early and was an exact match. Installed the motor with 3 screws and all works great. The biggest problem was finding the model number of the fan. It is located underneath the bug screen.

by:

Easy to change

  • Replacement Parts For a MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe 8951K
We do not carry an exact replacement unit for the MaxxAir Deluxe 8951K. We have the Smoke # MA00-07500K or White # MA00-07000K which would be the closest replacement. These fans use the same lift and fan motors but the control panels and circuit boards are going to be different so you would not be able to swap all the parts. Here are the replacement parts for your fan if you want to try changing out certain components. Also be sure to first check the power going to the fan as if the voltage...

  • Replacement Fan Motor for a MaxxFan 4951KS On a 2021 Grand Design Reflection
I spoke with MaxxFan and they said that is a fan motor causing the problem. The fan motor has an internal amperage short so when you increase speeds, the motor amperage is higher and the circuit board will close the lid and stop the fan. So all you're going to need to do is to replace your lift motor with the Replacement Lift Motor for Maxx Fan Plus Roof Vent # MA10-20270.

  • What Causes MaxxAir Maxx Fan Lid Not to Open or Close
The two most likely causes of a MaxxAir vent fan lid not opening or closing are either going to be a lift motor or operator failure. I recommend removing the motor and applying power directly to this to see if the shaft turns. If not, you know the motor is bad and needs to be replaced for which we have the Replacement Lift Motor for Maxx Fan Plus Roof Vent part # MA10-20270. If the motor works properly then it's most likely a bad operator for which we have the Replacement Operator Mechanism...

  • Solution for MaxxFan Roof Lid that Stopped Opening with Switch
Sounds like the lift motor needs to be replaced as it's no longer able to raise the vent lid. For that you'd want the part # MA10-20270. Since you are able to lift the lid manually it wouldn't be the operator. If this were the problem it would either make noise like you mentioned or wouldn't allow you to manually lift it.

  • Motor On MaxxAir MaxxFan 4900K Roof Vent Will Not Shut Off When Lid Is Closed
I spoke with MaxxAir about the issues you are having with your MaxxAir MaxxFan Roof Vent and they informed me that the gears inside the lift motor have gone bad so you will need to replace this with the Replacement Lift Motor for Maxx Fan Plus Roof Vent part # MA10-20270. I was also able to confirm that the Replacement Operator Mechanism for MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus or MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vents part # MA10-20281K-1AF is correct for you so that is not the issue.

It sounds like your Lift Motor # MA10-20270 or Operator Mechanism # MA10-20281K-1AF may be faulty. If you remove the motor from the operator mechanism you will be able to test and see if the motor turns when disconnected or if you can manually operate the mechanism to get it to open.

Carolyn, for your MaxxFan 4700K you can use the Replacement Lift Motor for Maxx Fan Plus Roof Vent # MA10-20270 for a replacement lift motor, and the Replacement Operator Mechanism for MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus or MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vents # MA10-20281K-1AF for the lift motor.

  • Troubleshooting MaxxAir 7000K Not Operating Properly With New Lift Motor and Circuit Board
I do see the Lift Motor # MA10-20270 and Circuit Board # MA10A21275K are the correct units for your MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07000K. I would start by checking the wiring and voltage going to your vent fan and 90% of the time the issues with this vent has to do with either over or under voltage. You will want to use a Multimeter # PT89ZR to also test the voltage when operating the fan to determine if the voltage is dropping to much when the fan starts to turn.

  • MaxxAir MaxxFan Roof Vent Will Not Open But Fan Still Operates
You issue is most likely either with the Lift Motor # MA10-20270 or the Operator # MA10-20281K-1AF. You can try removing the motor to see if it still operates when disconnected. The operator is going to be mounted under the lid so it can be harder to access as you will need to get on the roof. If you can verify the model of roof vent you have I can check to see if these are the correct parts or if you need something different.

If you need a different part let me know but these are all that's available for the lifting mechanisms aside from the Replacement Lift Motor part # MA10-20270. The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent, # MA00-07500K probably has a faulty operator mechanism or lift motor. This is done by rotating the 4 locking tabs 180 degrees (red arrows). Once the screen is out of the way there will be 4 screws that you see. Remove them as well as the screw from the manual lift knob (green arrow). After you do this the bottom panel of your vent will move freely down and you have...
