Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the replacement lift motor for your MaxxFan Plus roof vent. So if something's happened with that roof vent, it's gotten damaged, or it's just not working anymore, but you don't want to replace the whole thing. Everything else is working just fine. This is a way to keep that fan working for many more years without having to take out that whole unit and replace it with a completely new fan unit system. So let's take a closer look and make sure it's the right fit.
Just has this little plug that goes into the connection to the rest of the fan. And we'll have our two arms to connect into those mechanisms to lift and lower that vent lid. Works with several different models of fans. The list of those is on our product page here at etrailer.com so you can check with that to make sure that yours is a match for it. And this will be for obviously the electric fans, not the manual.It does not come with any mounting hardware so you will need to reuse the mounting hardware from the original to get this in place.

This vent lid drive motors don't seem to hold up well. This is my second replacement in 3.5 years. Granted it does get used a lot in the master bath in our Momentum 397TH since we are full timing it these days. This time I used my go to RV parts vender etrailer. Though I'm sure this unit will fail again (I bought 2 this time) etrailer always comes through in a easy and timely manner again and again.

I replaced the lift motor to no avail! I guess there something else wrong! The lid still won’t open could you tell me what I need to replace now?

Thank you for your review. I recommend to change the operator mechanism. That is the most common component to fail and will not allow the lid to lift. The part MA10-20281K-1AF operator mechanism fits models 4500K - 4900K, 4700N, and 4900N.

You will use an Allen wrench/key to remove this. I'm attaching a picture with a set of installation instructions for you to refer to when you're replacing the MaxxFan Lift Motor # MA10-20270 . We don't have the new/updated instructions available, but where it refers to a nut holding the blades on to the motor shaft, this is now a set screw like you're seeing.
