The Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring harness fit as recommended by the etrailer.com customer service representative. I wanted to be sure the electrical connector package would fit my Draw-Tite hitch, and it did. The instructions were straightforward, although there were no screws or nuts to attach the metal bracket to the hitch. I had to supply those. I believe they should have been part of the kit. The installation video on the etrailer.com site was very helpful.

2003 GMC Yukon XL

I am having a problem with the install of the three Curt trailer components I purchased. I intentionally bought all of the same brand assuming that they would work together. The problem is that the Curt wiring harness (part# C55774) is too long and rigid. When the 7-pin connector is installed in the bracket that comes with it, it measure 5 inches until the black wire protective sleeve bends (to go under the hitch receiver frame).

The no-drill bracket (part# C57202) is supposed to attach the harness bracket to the hitch. But it is only 6.5" long, and the hitch tube is 3" wide. So with the bracket attached to the hitch, there is only 3.5" of space left to mount the harness bracket so that the screw holes line up.

I am disappointed that this is the case, especially as I called etrailer to check that the parts I was ordering would work together.

It looks like I will have to discard C57202 and drill two holes into the bottom of the hitch and mount the harness bracket directly. This is what I wanted to avoid - having to drill holes.

The 7-way bracket that comes with the wiring harness part # C55774 is designed to be installed with the wiring harness bracket hanging below the no drill bracket part # C57202. Since you are worried about the loose wiring I would recommend using some wire loom such as part # 459075-1 to protect your wiring and zip tie any slack with zip ties part # DW05726-25. I know this is not the option you wanted but I feel it is better than drilling into the hitch.

This was supposed to be a plug in installation for my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. No it wasn't. Completely different connector, and the wiring was 2 feet too short. Was able to use it after a bit of clipping and splicing.

Product I ordered had an inaccurate description. Contacted customer service to return they would not send return shipping label so since the return shipping would have costed more than the part I threw it in the trash and ordered the part needed from another supplier. Needless to say I will not be ordering anything again.

by:

Perfect fit. My truck was not equipped with a tow package so I was a little worried it wouldn’t fit. The wiring and plug were already there with a cap on it to seal it from dirt/water. Took the cap off and this harness snapped right in place. Also installed an etrailer hitch and new bumper. Very happy with the products and the installer tools and information provided by etrailer.com.

by:

Perfect fit, works well

by:

Harness was easy to install. The truck came prewired. It just needed the adapter. We dremeled our the back of the bumper (2019 Titan’s have the cut our outlined on the back side already). We had to dremel 2 side prices off the harness, but it slide right now. Then we drilled through the plastics bumper cover and the metal on the bumper and bolted the bracket to the bumper.

The 4 point is just fished between the license plate and the bumper. It was easy and it now looks factory. Very happy with how it came out! Install was a cinch!

2018 Nissan Titan

I have a 2018 Nissan Titan, and while the connector was a perfect fit for connectivity to the factory connector. The Curt T-Connector wiring harness was about 6 inches short from connecting to the factory harness when mounted on the trailer hitch bracket. So, I was forced to mount it on the opposite side by drilling holes in bumper.

My 2002 Ford Excursion 7.3L diesel had the original factory hitch and wiring harness. The quality and heft of the Curt T-Connector is impressive. I bet I get years of use without problems.

by:

If you have multiple trailers that either use a 4-way flat or 7-pin round connector and get tried of having to use an adapter go with this setup. I've had one on my other truck for a couple years and no problems with 'em thus far. You can technically use the old existing mount on the receiver hitch itself but the 4-way will dangle unless you ziptie it up.

by:

Great product. Installed on my 2018 Jeep GC. Because of dual 4 pin and 7 pin connector I don’t need an adaptor when swapping out trailers/camper. Clean look to it as well.

by:
2023 Honda Passport

Bought this because of the split 4 pin and 7 pin connectors. I’ve had so many 7 pin to 4 pin adaptors and would forget that I let my son or son in-law use it and had to buy another one when I needed it. This will stop me from the need to buy another adaptor, good for me not good for my son and son in-law when they come over to borrow the trailer. LOL, who am I kidding I’ll still go with them to the store and buy another one.

by:

The actual trailer hitch was fine but the wiring kit was not the right kind. When I called to get a return authorization I was told that more than one half the cost of wiring kit will be deducted from my return for postage. I have never had to pay for returns to any company before. I will not be recommending your company

by:
2017 Nissan Titan XD

There was no place on the new hitch to bolt the end to, which was a disappointment. For now I sip tied the end to the hitch in an area where it does not move.

I like how it has both 7-way and the 4 pole connectors. Looks nice too!

  • Wiring Needed To Use Rampage Light Strip On 2012 Toyota Tundra
The Rampage SuperBrite LED Tailgate Light Bar part # RA960134 does connect to a 4-pole flat trailer connector on the Tundra. For that I recommend Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package part # C55774 which will allow you to plug into the factory tow port under the bumper and gives you a 7-way plug and a 4-pole flat to plug your light strip part # RA960134 into. You can use both the 4-pole and 7-way functions at the same time as long as you don't overload the circuit...

  • Towing Capacity and Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I was able to track down the online owner's manual for your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and for this vehicle you are looking at a maximum trailer weight of 6,200 pounds if you have the 3.6L engine or 7,200 pounds if you have the 5.7L engine. In either case you will still have a healthy safety margin between the loaded weight of the Nomad 186B Trailer and your Jeep's limits. I do still recommend verifying this information in your copy of the manual or by checking with a local Jeep...

  • Troubleshooting Lost Power on 7-Way Trailer Connector on 2018 Ram 1500
I'd start by making sure that your 7 way didn't get disconnected from the US car connector it's plugged into. If a fuse was blown, it would normally only effect the circuit that it's tied to, so I don't believe that would be the cause of your issue. For everything to completely shut off would lead me to believe that something has either become loose or disconnected completely. If that isn't the case, it might be possible that something overloaded the 7 way connector and fried it. You...
