  • Recommended Wiring And Trailer Light Kit For Harbor Freight Trailer
Since you said you want to re-wire your entire trailer I recommend the Optronics Submersible Trailer Light Kit, part # TL5RK. This kit comes with 2 stud-mount lights, 2 amber side marker and clearance lights, a license plate bracket, and a 25 ft wiring harness with a 4-way connector. The mounting hardware is also included with this kit. I have also attached a link to an installation video for this wiring kit you can check out.

  • How Much of Each Gauge of Wire Fit Inside a Wire Loom Comfortably
I would certainly recommend the 1/2-inch wire loom # 459075-1. It will hold two jacketed 2 wire 10-gauge wire and three jacketed 2 wire 12-gauge wire. See pictures to the right. In addition, I was able to fit comfortably eleven individual 16-gauge wire # DW02359-1 into the 1/2-inch wire loom. I also took a digital caliper to measure the exact radius of each type of wire: 10-gauge is .17 of an inch, 12-gauge is .14 of an inch and 16-gauge is .09 of an inch. The 10, 12 and 16-gauge wiring...

  • Installing a Brake Controller in 2001 Toyota Tacoma
Based on my research, the 2001 Toyota Tacoma did not come with a factory trailer connector. However, since you already have a 4-way connector installed on your truck, you will be able to start here for your brake controller installation. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885. This is a proportional brake controller with a digital display. It will level automatically when mounted within a 360-degree vertical range. The brake controller installs in your Tacoma...

  • Replacing Chewed Up Power Wires On A Lippert PSX2 Stabilizer Motor
I do have a solution for you even though Lippert does not offer a replacement power cord/boot for your Lippert PSX2 Stabilizer Motor # LC759091. First we'll start with the wires running to your trailer's battery. Strip back the black casing and individual wiring casing to expose a little bit more braided wire. You can attach some 12 gauge wire # 12-2-1 to these wires using some heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-5 for a water tight seal. You'll maybe only need a foot of wire to comfortably...

  • Electric Brake Conversion from Air Brakes on 15,000 lb Axle Trailer
The Dexter Electric Brake Kit w/ Cast Backing - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4" - Left/Right Hand - 15K # 23-446-447 will fit any 15K axle that have the standard 7 bolt mounting flange. These are self-adjusting brakes so there is no need for manual adjustments after the initial installation. They are labeled left-hand (driver's side) and right-hand (passenger's side) to ensure proper placement. If you need the mounting hardware, I recommend # BRKH122510 for each axle. You will also need...

  • Heavy Gauge Wiring For Lighting Functions on Trailer
The 4 pole wiring harnesses we offer for trailers are pretty consistent when it comes to the wire gauge. The right turn/brake, left turn/brake and running lamp circuit wires are typically 18 gauge and the ground wire is typically 16 gauge. This is pretty much industry standard. However, the Hopkins Easy-Pull harness, part # HM38136 has a design that will eliminate the typical failure point of a 4 pole trailer harness, which is the point where the harness meets the plug. The plug features...

  • Trailer Hitch and 7-Way Wiring Connector Installation on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The hitch that you referenced the Curt # 13051, is indeed a class III hitch that is confirmed as a fit for your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have included a video of this installation for your reference. Since your Cherokee does not have any existing wiring harness you are again correct that there are several plug in applications that will establish a 4-way trailer wiring harness for your vehicle. For a wire loom for 7-way wiring we recommend 1/2 inch diameter like part # 459075-1 that is sold by the foot. I have a 7-way adapter on my desk that has a wire loom on it that is 1/2 inch so I know this size would be correct.

  • Can Junction Box be Submerged When Rewiring Boat Trailer
You can re-do the wiring on your boat trailer with a junction box, but a junction box cannot be submerged as they aren't waterproof. So if you are able to place the junction box in a location that allows it not to be submerged, the best option is the Trailer Wiring Junction Box # 3375601100. This comes with ring terminals and if you need wire we offer it sold by the foot with 12 Gauge # 12-1-1, 14 Gauge # DW02413-1, 16 Gauge # DW02359-1. • What is the Best Size Wire Loom for Bonded 4 Wire and One 12 Gauge Wire
I would go with a 3/8 inch diameter, like # 39035. That should provide enough space for the wires and still give good coverage. This loom comes in a 10 foot length. If you needed less of expect that you might have other wiring to run with the existing wires, you can go to a 1/2 inch loom, sold in 1 foot increments, # 459075-1.
