With a rain cover, you can leave the exhaust port open to help prevent humidity buildup when parked. Choose a cover with good louver design and verify fit to reduce splashing in heavy rain. Install carefully so the cover doesn't restrict the lid's travel.
Pick a taller cover if your lid opens high or you need extra clearance; a lower profile helps keep overall height down. Some taller designs accept an optional bug screen, while certain low-profile styles do not offer a screen option. After install, raise the lid and check for slight contact with the cover; a minor touch may not affect fan functionality.
Match the hinge style and ensure the cap secures firmly; inspect hinge points and pins after highway travel.
