Brophy RV steps make climbing into a truck camper feel solid and straightforward. Mount to the camper instead of the tailgate, with setups that fold for travel and slip into a bracket so you can remove them quickly. Adjustable designs work well for taller rigs and uneven sites, and traction surfaces help with sure footing.
Yes. They slip into a mounting bracket so you can remove them before heading out. They fold for storage, but plan a spot to stow them. The stairs can feel heavy for some, so handle with care and make sure your mounting surface is solid to reduce the chance of the bracket pulling out over time.
The diamond tread helps, but the steps can be slick when wet or in socks. Add non-slip grip tape to the flat areas to increase traction. Consider a handhold or handrail so you're not using the camper door for support. Also watch the gap at the top step and step deliberately if your camper overhang creates a space.
Mount them to the bottom of the camper, not the tailgate. Many remove the tailgate for clearance. If you plan a tailgate setup, check the available flat space and confirm the bracket can mount securely; a Brophy tailgate bracket is about 18 1/8" wide with mounting pins 15" apart center to center. A curved tailgate may need a straight mounting surface added.
Measure from the bracket under the door to the ground and choose steps that match that entry height. Taller trucks may need a longer set than 40". Check your height on level ground and consider uneven campsites since the steps can extend to help with small changes in height.
