RV Steps with 9 Inch Drop/Rise and 23-1/2 Inch Wide Step
Set up your entry the way you like it with a 9 inch drop/rise that matches the spacing your doorway and ground height call for. The 23-1/2 inch wide step provides a broad tread surface, pairing well with that rise to keep each step consistent and comfortable. Ideal when you need defined step height and extra room underfoot together.
Confirm you have the correct instructions for your mount style; latch and hinged mounts differ. Dry-fit the brackets, mark holes, and drill pilot holes to keep alignment clean. Before starting, lay out all parts and verify shims and hardware are present so you're not stuck mid-install. If directions don't match your mount, check the manufacturer's guide for your style.
Measure from your threshold to the ground and the inside-to-inside of your door flange. Match both measurements to the step's fit range. If your entry height is near the top of a range, expect the first step to feel higher; a taller entry-height option can improve comfort. Set your trailer up on level ground like you camp before measuring.
Adjustable legs help on uneven ground, but near the maximum listed entry height the slots can be close to their end. You may still have a little extra adjustment, yet the first step can feel higher than comfortable. For off-road sites or if you'll be over the max, pick a model rated for a taller entry height to maintain an easier first step.
Some installs can require trimming the bottom of the door or shortening a screen door. Quick connect style steps can help avoid door trimming, while fold-in designs may need more clearance. If mounting plates touch the door, recessing the brackets or floor plates can help the door close smoothly. Test-fit before drilling to spot any interference.
