Question:
I have a 2012 Cadillac Escalade I have a trailer that the lights work on other vehicles with the four-point harness. I have to have an adapter for my truck. I only have one light that works on the trailer when it hooks up I bought the seven blade adapter. Am I buying the wrong adapter?

As your trailer works on other vehicles and your 2012 Cadillac Escalade has the factory tow package I recommend starting by checking the fuses. On your engine compartment fuse box fuse number 1 is for the right trailer brake/turn signal. Fuse number 3 is for the left trailer brake/turn signal. And fuse 25 is for the parking/running lights.
If the fuses are all good you will want to test your 7-way with a Test Light # PTW2993 to verify power is getting to the 7-way. I have included a image below which shows which functions are for each connection. Be sure to also test with the adapter in place to verify if the Adapter # PK12716 isn't causing the issue. From there you can work your way behind the connector along the wiring looking for any damage to the wiring or connectors on your factory wiring.

Bud M you are what is great about the Internet. I was just about to rip out all my boat trailer wiring when I found your post about fuses on my car. Wallah!! It worked. Thanks!!

I have a 2012 Cadillac SRX with the factory tow package. I bought the wiring harness from you guys several years ago and it has worked fine lately. The left turn signal doesn’t work right turn signal and tail lights work fine on the trailer. I unplugged your wiring harness from the factory plug under the bumper put a test light on the prongs and it’s not getting power to the left. Turn signal on that plug either. Would you have any suggestion where to look from there?
