• Dimensions of the Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Hand Winch # DL10954
  I went out to the warehouse and took pictures of the Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Hand Winch, part # DL10954. I am including a couple of pictures that will show the dimensions on the winch. The overall length of the winch is 5-1/2 inches. The overall height to the top of the drum is 5-1/2 inches. The height to the top of the side of the base is 4-1/4 inches. The width of the winch is 4-3/4 inches. The overall width of the drum is 2-5/16 inches.

• Worm Gear Recommendation for Lifting 500 lbs From Ceiling
  Ratchet straps aren't designed for lifting. Their ratings are for the weight they can secure. Since they aren't setup for lifting it would be incredibly difficult to try and crank the ratchet if not totally impossible. For a winch the Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Hand Winch # DL10954 would work great as it has more than enough capacity. It also can be mounted to the ceiling to allow the winch to hoist the weight easier.

  We don't have a demo video for the Erickson Lift Sling # EM02000 that shows how it works yet, but I can describe to you how it works. Basically you would hook the bracket with the three hooks to the sides of the PWC under the lip around the edge of it and then using a ceiling hoist winch like the Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Hand Winch # DL10954 slowly raise the PWC off of the ground. You should note this isn't designed as a permanent storage system for the PWC.
