I replaced the old ramp door spring with this 120-lb capacity, now it's so much easier to raise and lower the door.
It was super easy to install and and adjust!
The components are all top quality and I'm very happy with how well it functions.

by:

Spring installation went well, install steps on tensioning ramp were a little excessive for my alumium ramp, however after a few adjustments worked smoothly.

by:

Ramp spring fit perfect and had all the pieces I needed to install on a 6x12 US cargo v nosed enclosed trailer. Spring still works well in year after purchase. This is a work trailer that is opened and closed multiple times 5 days a week.

by:

Exactly what I needed! I'm using it in a shed application to operate a utility ramp. I've installed several door spring assists, but it's been a while. The included instructions are a concise and good reminder of the steps involved.

Its been a great product, and a pleasure to use it, sometimes twice a day. After all the use I took up one quarter more turn in the spring for slack that had developed. I consider that minimal maintenance!

The spring setup has been working fine after hundreds of cycles. The one thing I ended up changing was to relocate the cable anchor points 1 12” towards the top of the door , from where the instructions said.

Great job. Thank you so much

  • Recommended Ramp Door Spring Options For A 6' Wide Enclosed Trailer
For a 6' wide trailer we have the 120lb capacity # 362SA6 and 80lb capacity # M364FR ramp door springs from M-3. Both of these options can be shortened by sliding the mounting bracket down and cutting the tube to fit your trailer. The # 362SA6 fits 38" to 69" wide trailer doors and the # M364FR fits 37-1/2" to 67-5/8" wide trailer doors.

  • Conventional Ramp Door Spring that Fits 61 inch Wide Ramp Door
We don't have ability to cut down our trailer ramp springs at this time but we do have a Conventional Ramp Door Spring that does fit your 61 inch wide door that would not require cutting with the part # 362SA6 which would work great.

  • Length of Cables for Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 5 Foot Wide Enclosed Trailer
I reached out to the manufacturer, who told me the cable was 135 inches long for the Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 5' Wide Enclosed Trailer # 362SA5. What you will do is measure from the top of your door down to the bottom of the door and if it measures up you can use the spring. In regards to capacity, the 85 lbs is the max weight the door can be to safely use the ramp door spring. If you need more capacity or a longer spring, for a longer 150 inch cable and 120 lb door capacity,...

  • Ramp Door Spring Recommendation for a 2009 Carson 6x10 Enclosed Trailer
Trailer ramp door springs are generally chosen based on the inside width of the trailer where it will be installed. Also, ramp door springs such as # 362SA6 can be trimmed down some if the length is too much for the trailer. This is the shortest version we have in this style. It can be trimmed down to 38-3/8" inches if needed. We strongly recommend to have a garage door company install these types of springs because if not done properly it can be very dangerous since the springs are under...

  • Measuring Ramp Door Weight For Replacement Ramp Door Spring
In order to properly weigh your door to figure out the correct spring you only need to find the weight when the ramp door is down. Assuming you weighed your door without spring assist, you can use the 74 lb measurement. Typically, you use a scale and place a block of wood or something similar on the scale and rest your ramp on the block to get this measurement. You do not need to know or estimate the total weight of the door to choose a replacement spring. Based on the weight and the door...

  • Can Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring Be Cut Down When Installing
The Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring, part # 362SA6 will work great for your Haulmark trailer. This spring is 66-inches long but can be trimmed down to fit the size you need. The spring has universal brackets with 3/8 inch holes and can be mounted on the trailer header. The bracket can be installed by welding if that's the way you need it. You will want to use great caution when installing the cable and adjusting the spring tension. If you are not familiar with how it is done I strongly recommend...

  • Does Lifting Force Consistency of Conventional Ramp Door Spring # 362SA6
When wound properly the 120 lb lifting force of the Conventional Ramp Door Spring # 362SA6 is going to be basically throughout the entire range of the ramp being lifted as you'll feel it. That said, the spring will be helping the most when the ramp is on the ground and as it gets closer to the being closed gravity will affect it less and less which works out perfectly as the pulling force of the spring will begin to diminish at the same time. This is why it's so important to have a professional...

  • Ramp Door Spring Recommendation for Lifting Ramp Door that Weighs 77 lb and is 63 inches Wide
Due to the weight and dimensions of the ramp door you have on your shed the 67 inch long Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring # 362SA6 would be the better option. It's a few inches longer and has a capacity that matches what you'd need so it would be a great option.

  • Recommended Rear Ramp Door Lift Spring for an Enclosed Trailer
I have a solution for you but the Gorilla Lift item # GL1 you referenced only works on utility trailers with raised bed rails. To help raise the ramp door of an enclosed trailer you will want to use the Ramp Door Spring for 6' Wide Enclosed Trailer item # 362SA6. This functions like a garage door on a house. The tension provided by the torsion spring handles the weight of the trailer's door. I have linked a review video below.

  • Does Conventional Ramp Door Spring 362SA6 Include The Mounting Brackets?
The Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 6' Wide Enclosed Trailer # 362SA6 actually does include the mounting brackets, just not the mounting hardware. The reason for this is that the mounting hardware is dependent on the structure of your specific trailer. If you are not familiar with installing torsion springs then you will need to have a professional install this for you. I included a video of the # 362SA6 for you to take a look at.

  • Should Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring # 362SA6 Install to Sheet Metal Above Enclosed Trailer Ramp
The Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring # 362SA6 that you referenced does require a very solid mounting point for installation. If that means you have to drill through the steel of your trailer above the ramp then that would be the best way to do it. You do need support at the bracket locations for the spring to lift the weight it is designed for. The installation instructions for this product are recommended for individuals who have experience winding torsion springs. If you have not worked...

For the rear opening I recommend using enclosed trailer ramp spring # ERS120D81. It has a capacity of 120 pounds. And for the rear I recommend # 362SA6 which has a 120 pound capacity. Professional installation by someone with torsion spring installation (like a garage door company) is recommended because working with these types of springs can be dangerous.
