Had to replace the existing coupling on my boat trailer due to some previous damage and age. Purchased the CT-5003 Coupler from etrailer.com. The new one fit great and seems to be just as good if not better then the original. Was picked and shipped the same day and arrived in just 3 days and it was ordered on a Saturday. Haven't actually hooked it up to the truck and pulled the boat to the water yet but seems it should do fine.

by:

The coupler looked like a perfect match for the OEM unit on my EZLoader trailer. I called to confirm the the distance between the mounting holes was correct and etrailer confirmed the distance between holes was 3 1/16 inches as it should be. They did not mention that the distance from the inside top edge of the coupler was not the same. I will not use the coupler because there is no way to redrill the mounting holes and use it.

Has worked out perfectly, Very satisfied with this purchase.

by:

We have used these couplers for years, with nothing negative to say about them. They perform really well, and etrailer is really Johnny-on-the-spot with the speed of their filling their orders.

by:

The 2 bolts that bolt the Tongue to the trailer did not line up. When bolted on to the trailer, there was a quarter inch gap from the under side of the tongue to the top of the trailer. I had to make a quarter inch metal spacer to fill in the gap. Also, the same bolts did not line up side by side. I had to make one of the holes larger for the bolts to line up.

Etrailers is outstanding in so many ways. CUSTOMER SERVICE, and EDUCATION are areas where they really shine, and these show up on everything they do. Used tall a few years back, and now again and so very pleased.

by:

perfect fit, finally got the right part with a little research thank you

by:

Quick fix to a broken hitch, easy to install, works great

by:

Thanks so much for the trailer coupler. It fit perfectly and is really heavy duty. Had to drill a few holes in the existing tongue to fit just right. All your trailer stuff including wire harnesses have been excellent quality. Thank you

by:

PERFECT TRAILER HITCH REPLACEMENT FIT & EASY TO INSTALL!!! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AS WELL!!! THE HUBBY WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY & EASE OF ORDERING!!! DEFINITELY WILL BE OUR GO TO TRAILER PART PLACE & YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED EITHER!!!

by:

Exact coupler to replace one that was damaged on my utility trailer.

by:

Fast shipping, great price. Perfect replacement for my old trailer coupler. Excellent seller.

by:

It is exactly what it was described as.

by:

Great product for the price. Fit right over the 3 inch trailer tongue. The only difference between this coupler and the original is that this coupler sits about one quarter inch high on the tongue, where the original sat flat on top of the tongue.

by:

Quick service & shipment, The part fits Perfectly!!

by:

Well-made and quickly shipped. I was having trouble finding a replacement because the bolt holes on others would not go low enough to match the original. This one was recommended as a replacement. Sits a little higher but that is fine since I didnt need to drill new holed or grind out the existing ones to line it up. A+

by:

I was not impressed with the lack of attention to detail.
The entire outer edge was not sanded / grounded smooth. It could have easily cut a finger or two with the barb like edges it had. Fortunately, I own a hand grinder and I made the sharp edges go away and the unit is now very smooth and will not cut anyone in the future.

by:

Exactly what i expected

by:

Finally finished the project e trailers made it easy . Started with a bare frame and put on new axle springs tires and bunks, rollers and winch.
Can’t want to hit the water

by:

Very Efficient Operation A+

by:

Quick delivery, nice quality great pri ce

by:

This product works, but is aggravating. Toys is one of them couplers that you have to reach under to open up so it will go onto the 2" ball. Then it takes some wiggling of the lever to get it to latch. Lastly, the hole to put your pin or lock does not line up asks you have to mess with that to get the lock on. Wish I had spent a few more dollars for a better coupler.

by:

Thank you for the great service!

>Scott

by:

looks like it will work great

Coupler came in the mail earlier than expected. Was just as advertised fit perfectly. Fits on my trailer. Now I can move my boat when needed in boat yard

  • Can The 3 Hole Demco Coupler Be Used On a 3" Channel Tongue With Only 2 Mounting Holes?
Yes, you would be able to drill out the 3rd hole for the Demco Coupler # 12564 and use it on your 3" wide channel. It sounds like you have a coupler like our etrailer # CT-5003-Z which only used the 2 mounting holes due to the light weight of the trailer. Our coupler is only rated for trailers up to 5,000lbs while the Demco is rated up to 10,000lbs.

  • Recommendation for Most Secure Trailer Coupler Lock
The more secure coupler locks we offer are designed for be used when the trailer isn't hitched to the vehicle. They're designed to prevent the coupler from being hitched to a trailer ball, like # FA86-0015-305. With the trailer attached to the ball, you'd want to use something that would prevent the latch mechanism of the coupler from being opened, as well as securing the ball mount into the hitch receiver using something like the # BD580402 hitch lock you'd looked at. The latch locks...

Stranded wire is typically cheaper so it's what most people go with.

  • Coupler to Replace Shorelandr 3310010
While we don't have the exact Shoreland'r coupler you are looking for we can help since I was able to determine that the coupler is for a 2 inch ball, has a 3,500 lb towing capacity, and fits a 3 inch channel. So you could use the # CT-5003-Z which covers all of that. Then for safety chains you could use the part # TCTSCG30-730-04x1 which is sold individually and you'd be set.

  • Installing Coupler in Place of Shelby 5135 on Boat Trailer
I recommend etrailer.com Channel Tongue Coupler part # CT-5003-Z to replace the Shelby 5135 coupler. The etrailer.com coupler has a channel width of 3" and takes a 2" ball. It also has 3" from center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole which are the dimensions of your Shelby coupler. So you could weld this in place of what you have like your current coupler or you could drill holes to mount the coupler like that.
