Just what I needed for my home-made trailer ramp door. Now I can raise and lower my ramp with one finger instead of enlisting the help of a neighbor, friend, or stranger! I only wish I had ordered this spring assist BEFORE I dropped my ramp door on my toe last year! Brackets supplied with springs are very heavy duty, but were a bit too long to accommodate my headroom, so I used some lower profile brackets that were not quite as heavy, but so far seems to be holding up well.

The coil spring works great. I saw a ramp door online and copied it for my shed. I built the ramp door from the shed double opening doors and used most of the parts from etrailer.com The dual spring is used to assist opening and closing the ramp door. I calculated the weight and called etrailer.com and they helped me size the dual spring.

Door spring was easy to install. I have a 4 place enclosed snowmobile trailer with a rear door opening of 8ft wide and 5 ft tall. The door is pretty heavy to lift without the springs and now with them installed, I am able to easily lift the door with one hand. Great quality. Be sure you know what you are doing when installing and tightening the springs. If you do not, then leave it to the professionals as you can really hurt yourself.

So easy to open and close the back door now. My husband doesn’t complain about his back or need my help to help hold it up. I can open and close it by myself and I’m short. So glad we added it to our trailer, we load a side by side through the door on our trips. Customer service helped us get the tension correct. Friendly company.

Worked well, cut down the bar to fit our trailer needs and bolted right up. Right side pulley was bent, (Probably from Shipping). Working with them for a replacement. Just took the pulley off the old to get the trailer back on the road. Installed quickly with 2 guys and everything was as described when purchased.

Jared, the 150" long cables that come with the Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 8' Wide Enclosed Trailer # M354FR are unfortunately the only size offered with that part. What you could do instead, is buy the Replacement Cables for Conventional Ramp Door Spring # M339FR which is 174" and will work with the Ramp Door Spring # M354FR.

I don't know how wide your rear door is but we have an 8 foot wide rear door we have the 120 lb kit part # M354FR or for a 7 foot wide option we have the part # ERS120D81. These are for enclosed style trailers. If you have a open trailer with side rails you could instead use the Gorilla Lift part # GL1 to help with the ramp.

I would be happy to help! Since the ramp door on your 8' wide race trailer weighs in roughly 200lbs I recommend the # 362SA8HD which works with ramp doors up to 230lbs so it will offer plenty of assistance to raise your door. Lastly we strongly recommend having the spring installed by a qualified professional as these springs are under a lot of tension and can be very dangerous to those not familiar to how they get installed.
