Ramp Door Spring Recommendation for Lifting Ramp Door that Weighs 77 lb and is 63 inches Wide

Updated 06/21/2018 | Published 06/19/2018

Question:

I have a shed that i converted to a door that opens like an enclosed trailer to easily drive my riding lawn mower in and out of. I was looking at installing a trailer ramp spring to making lifting it easier. I dont know what kind of spring capacity I should be looking at. my door dimensions are 63inch wide 76inch tall When opened and laying on a scale, the scale reads 77lbs. Should I go with the dual spring 120lb capacity or the single spring 80lb?

Expert Reply:

Due to the weight and dimensions of the ramp door you have on your shed the 67 inch long Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring # 362SA6 would be the better option. It's a few inches longer and has a capacity that matches what you'd need so it would be a great option.
