Keeping your trailer visible after dark is key to staying safe on the road. This red rectangular light measures 2-1/2" long by 1-1/4" tall and uses a premium incandescent bulb rated for up to 15,000 hours of use. The bright red lens clearly marks your trailer edges as both a clearance and side marker when mounted properly, so other drivers can easily spot you from the front or side.
You don’t have to worry about rain, spray, or even full submersion taking out this light. The housing and lens are sealed together into one waterproof unit that keeps moisture out and protects the internal parts. Whether it’s heavy weather or a wet launch, the sealed design keeps the bulb and circuit secure for long-term reliability.
Visibility from more than one angle is what sets this light apart. As a PC-rated light, it throws light in a 90-degree spread on each side of its centerline—180 degrees total. That means it can serve double duty as both a clearance and side marker light, making it easier for others to see your trailer from multiple directions.
Mounting this light doesn’t take much work. It’s designed to surface mount using a bracket (part number 150-09, sold separately) and connects through standard male terminals that accept a 2-wire female plug (part number 153-49, sold separately). Once in place, it lays flat against the trailer body for a clean, finished look that’s easy to maintain.
Made to handle typical trailer lighting setups, this light works with standard 12V DC systems and meets DOT requirements for clearance and side marker use. It’s built for long service life with straightforward wiring and a strong lens that holds up well over time.

Today, we're taking a look at a Peterson Clearance and Side Marker Light. This is a rectangular trailer light that functions as both a clearance light and a side marker light for your trailer when properly mounted. Has a nice, red lens. After this, we'll hook it up to power so you can see what it looks like with power into it. We're looking at about 2-1/2 inches. Edge to edge, going this direction, that's about 1-3/16, and then the overall depth measures about 13/16 of an inch deep.All right. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to power. Then we'll turn off our overhead light so you can see it in a low-light setting.
You can see here, it does send out a pretty nice consistent signal. Again, it contains one incandescent bulb, allows plenty of light to come through. Again, that bulb is rated at 15,000 hours when it comes to the lifespan of the bulb.That's going to do it for today's look at the Peterson Clearance and Side Marker Light.
