Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX straight valve stop fitting. This straight valve stop is going to connect your pipes and hoses in your RV freshwater plumbing system and allow you to control the flow of that water with the very simple quarter turn valve here. So whether you're needing to repair leaky connections or installing a new pipe, this will do a great job for you. It will work with your PEX pipes, the old gray PB pipes as well as the polyvinyl tubing. On the one end here, we do have a three eights inch male compression connection that will thread onto a three eighths inch female compression fitting.
On the other end, we've got the half inch barbed connection that's gonna fit your hoses and tubes with a half inch inner diameter. The barbed connection and the compression end here team up to allow you to get this installed very simply by hand. You're not gonna need any tools to get this connected. So basically the way this works you'll just slide that compression end over your hose or tube and then you'll get that barbed and inserted into your hose or tube. That will take a little bit of doing you have to wiggle it a little bit and imply some pressure.
But once you get that inserted, we'll just slide that compression end back over there and then tighten it down and that's gonna create a nice solid seal for you. Now, I did try this out myself a few days ago with a very similar connection. We had some PEX pipe laying around, so I put the fitting on there just to see how it would go together. I was really impressed with that connection. It does take a little bit of effort to get that barbed end inserted into your hose or tubing.
So if you are gonna be working in a confined space under a cabinet or something like that, I'd suggest putting that in the connection on your hose before you get into that confined space somewhere where you're gonna have a little bit more elbow room to really apply some pressure. But that's really the hardest part. And then once you have that barbed end in you get that tightened down by hand. That compression fitting tightened down by hand. It's gonna be a very solid connection.
I was really impressed. I was able to get it installed by hand, but then to get it disconnected, I actually had to use a couple of vice grips. So it's a very solid connection, which of course is gonna be important anytime you're working with water, you don't want to have leaks or drips or anything like that. So this is gonna do a really great job for you. It does have a polyoxyethylene construction so it is gonna be very durable and resistant to stress cracking. So it will hold up well and give you a great performance for a long time to come. I do wanna point out, this is just one of the many connection types that we have available here at etrailer. So if you're going thinking through your project, think about what kind of connections you're gonna need to make what kind of lines you're gonna need to run I'd encourage you to take a look at some of our other options as well. Make sure that you're gonna have everything you need before you start your project. That completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
