The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.
A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Optronics Mini Thinline Sealed LED Marker and Clearance Light. This red light provides a marker, or a clearance light, for your trailer. It is sonically sealed, so it's completely waterproof. It features the two prong connector on the back, which accepts a standard two prong plug. That item is sold separately and available at etrailer.com.This unit contains one LED or one diode. LEDs are great replacements for incandescent lights.
They last longer, they burn brighter, and they're much more efficient. You don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments. This unit features a nice, polycarbonate lens. It's very strong and durable. It is SAE, and Department of Transportation, compliant.Now, this light is designed to be mounted, using a bracket, or a grommet.
Those items are sold separately and available at etrailer.com. I do have a couple of them here today, just to show you what it would look like. So you if you choose a grommet installation, this light basically fits into the grommet. It presses into place and it gives the light a really nice look.When using that option, it still requires a two prong plug. When using a bracket, like this, you'll see that it has a connection point, right here.
That's metal and it goes over to one of the mount hole locations, so this unit actually grounds through the mounting hardware. So if you're using an option like this, the light just snaps into the bracket. So it would fit in there, and then on the reverse side, it would only require a one prong plug, for your connection, for power.When it comes to the measurements of the unit, length measurement is around two and a half inches by an inch and a quarter. The overall depth is about one in deep. We're going to go and hook it up to power.
That way you could see what it looks like with some power running to it. Then, we'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights, so you can see it in a lower light setting.So you can see here, it sends out a very bright, consistent signal. Again, it's got one LED, or one diode. Power drill, at 12.8 volts is, 0.023 amps, and Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LED.
