Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Optronics LED License Plate Light. This license plate light mounts to your trailer and angles light downward to illuminate your trailer's license plate. It's sonically sealed. We have the chrome polycarbonate housing and lens. The unit features a complete waterproof design.Now, this is a LED system. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights.
They last longer, they burn brighter, they're more efficient. With LEDs, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments. It also features durable surface mount technology when it comes to the construction of the LED circuit board. That design better withstands shock and vibration and allows for improved heat distribution.Again, it mounts directly on the surface of the trailer, mounting hardware not included. Two mount hole design and it's a two wire design.
We have the white wire, which is our ground wire, black wire is the power wire. It is Department of Transportation compliant.A few measurements to go over with real quick, then we'll hook it up to power and you can see what it looks like with power running to it. Edge to edge going this direction is four and 1/8th inches. Top to bottom measures one and 7/8th inches. Then, very front to very back gives us an overall depth of about two and three quarter inches.
Mount holes on the unit are separated on center by three and one quarter inches.We'll go ahead and hook it up to power. We'll turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. You can see here that it sends light in a downward angle, illuminating whatever is directly below it. It's a single diode design or a single LED design, but it still provides plenty of light output to illuminate a license plate on the trailer. Power inaudible 00:01:45 at 12.8 volts is 0.054 amps.

The light was what I needed but was not as easy to install as I had hoped due to the access required to find and connect to the existing wiring. That was a factor of our trailer and not having anything to do with the light. The light went in with some modifications and works as required.

Seems like a nice product for being all plastic. Light is sealed well and it fit good on my trailer. The light produces much more light in person than the video shown. That was a worry of mine but it’s plenty to light up a license plate. Hopefully it will be good and last a long time! So far so good!

- What Size Screw Is Needed To Install the Optronics LED License Plate Light Part # LPL59CBThe two mounting holes on the Optronics LED License Plate Light part # LPL59CB are .2" diameter which means you can use the Self-Tapping Phillips Head Screw part # 1131832 to attach them to your trailer. In order to make the wiring connections you can use the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connectors part # DW05744-5. This will be everything that you need to install the light for the exception of a phillips head screwdriver and pair of pliers.
