Today we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics LED Trailer License Plate Light. This light angles down to illuminate your trailer's license plate. It is a LED system, LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights, they last longer and burn brighter, they're much more efficient, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about burnt out filaments. It's going to feature a durable chrome-plated steel housing. Nice strong, durable design, and it's going to feature a clear polycarbonate lens. It does mount directly on the surface of the trailer, with a built-in mounting flange. Mounting hardware is not included. You will notice that it has the two pre-drilled holes, and it's a two-wire design.
White wires are ground, black wires are power. It is Department of Transportation compliant. A few dimensions to go over with real quick, and then we'll hook it up to power so you can see what it looks like. Overall depth is going to be about 2" deep from front to back. The base gives us a measurement in this direction of about 2-1/2". Going this direction, that's going to give us a measurement of 1-13/16".
The mounting holes on the unit are separated on center by about 2". And the mounting hole diameter is going to be 1/4". It's going to contain one diode or one LED. The power draw of 12.8 Volts is 0.054 Amps. Optronics does put a lifetime warranty on the LED. Go and hook it up, so you can see what it looks like.
We'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights so you can see our low-light setting. So you can see there that that's going to cast light directly at a downward angle. It's going to do a great job at illuminating the license plate. You can see that that clear lens allows plenty of light to come through.
