The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the internal components.
Surface-mount lights install flat against the surface of the trailer, so a hole does not need to be cut into the trailer for the light. This type of light is installed using a flange or bracket that has mounting holes. And mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Optronics LED license plate light kit with the bracket and the included grommet. This is a three quarter inch sealed waterproof LED license plate light. It is SAE and Department of Transportation compliant. It features a really nice polycarbonate lens and housing that's very strong and durable. This light contains a total of two LEDs. LEDs are great replacements for incandescent lights.
They last longer, burn brighter, and they're much more efficient, and you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about fertile filaments. It is a two wire design, so you have your white wire and your black wire. White is for ground, black is for power. You'll also notice that it features the .180 nail bullets on the end of each wire. These can easily be removed for hard wire applications.
It does come with the bracket, and the light's mounted in there with a nice grommet, so the bracket has two mount holes. Mounting hardware not included. These mount holes are separated on center by 1 13/16 of an inch. It's a really nice design. Once it's installed, it'll stick out from the installation surface by about 1 3/4 inches.
Edge to edge going this direction measures about 2 1/8. Edge to edge this direction, just measuring the housing here at the base is about one inch. If we do include the lens, it increases that measurement to about 1 3/8 of an inch.We're gonna go and hook it up to power; that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. We'll also be able to turn off our overhead light so you can see it in a lower light setting. When it comes to the power draw at 12.8 volts, we're looking at 0.030 amps.
Optroics does put a lifetime warranty on their LEDs. It's got two LED design, so the multi-dial design really helps to optimize the overall light output. As you can see, it sends out a nice, bright, consistent signal. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Optronics LED license plate light kit.

I was concerned that this one single LED fixture would be enough to illuminate the license plate on our boat trailer. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it does the job very well.
Very satisfied and it is a very good led light.This led light you can use two screws to mount it up any where.

There are many colors of LED bulbs, however I was disappointed in the amber hue or Kelvin (4300K) color of this light.

I checked and of our submersible round LED license plate lights I do not have one to offer that would be a brighter white.
Really good tag light. First one I've found that has a very even pattern of light(though it is a little on the bright side). Most led tag light have a beam projected for each led...not this one. Very sturdy and appears well made.
Very satisfied with the product and very good led light.

Will be installing 2 of these on a 53' drop deck. Should work, one thing I would like to see would be a grommet to seal the wiring penetration.
