Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Video Transcript for Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Volvo XC60 - Draw-Tite

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Volvo Sc60, we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the draw tight max frame custom fit class three trailer hitch receiver.Offering the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening, it's part number is 75671.Here is what your hitch is gonna look like installed. As you can see, it gives us a pretty nice clean appearance. The majority of the hitch is gonna be up behind your face, just so you're not left with a huge cross tube going side to side, kind of changing the aesthetics of the vehicle. This is a class 3 hitch, so we have the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening. That makes it an extremely versatile hitch. There's tons of different accessories to go in hitches. You can see our 5/8ths diameter pin hole. That's what we'll use to secure all our items with.

It's the one closer to the front of the vehicle. The one behind it is for use of the J-Pin stabilization system, which is an anti rattle device available from drawtight.Safety chain connection points are gonna be rounded steel stock on both sides. Plenty of room there for whatever size chain you want to connect. An as an added bonus, we do have a wiring tab that's been welded on to the hitch here. It has three pre drilled holes. That's gonna allow us to attach a wiring bracket, whether we want to put a four, maybe a seven fold here on the rear of the vehicle. As far as weight ratings go, we have a 400 pound tongue weight rating.

So that's the maximum downward force we can put here in our receiver tube opening. We have a 4,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. That's the total weight of your trailer and anything you might load up on it. The hitch is rated for for use with weight distribution. If you're gonna use weight distribution, the tongue weight is gonna go up to 450. The gross trailer weight is going to go up to 4500 pounds, but definitely check your owners manual, see what your Volvo is rated for, and don't exceed.

That.A few measurements that you'll find helpful when it comes time to select your ball mount, bike rack, or hitch cargo carrier would be from the ground to the inside top edge of a receiver tube opening. We've got about 13 and a quarter inches. Then from the center of our hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of our bumper, it's about 6 and a half. To begin the installation of your hitch, we need to get the exhaust lowered down a little bit. We got a rubber exhaust inaudible 00:02:05 here, and then pretty much in the same spot over on the other side. What we'll do is just a little bit of spray lubricant, and then you can use a long screw driver, you can use a pry bar. But you want to just pry on that until you get it to come off of that.

Tab is stuck on.Just like that. We'll move to the other side and do the same thing. Now if you have these chrome beauty rings that go around the outside, we may have to remove those and we may not. We'll just see once we get there. But up on the side, there's a tab that sticks off, and there's a torque spit. You basically right above here, and then same here on this side. And right above there. Hopefully we don't have to remove them. If we do, we'll show you how.If we'll follow our rubber isolator up, you're gonna see a bolt that goes right up into the floor of the vehicle here. We're gonna use a 13 millimeter socket, we'll move that, and that'll allow us to take down that exhaust tank. This is just gonna be temporary. We're gonna place it back up after we trim our heat shield. We want to do that on both sides, as well.Just in front of where that hanger was, you'll see a little raised edge here. So we're gonna trim our heat shield right along that edge. And then we want to continue this line here, kind of all the way back. We had to switch marker color there, but you can see we're gonna come all the way back here, and cut across this way. I'm gonna start over on this edge, cut towards the middle. To do this, we're just gonna use 10 snips here.Be careful, these edges are gonna be real sharp. Don't get cut.Just above our exhaust here on the inside of the frame rail, here's where we took that exhaust hanger out. Right here, there's a piece of foam tape cover a hole. We'll pull that off, that's gonna be our rear most mounting point right there. Now let's take a look at our attachment points here. We're gonna be using this hole here. It's gonna be the first hole in front of where we remove the exhaust inaudible 00:04:32 bowl. Then if we come forward, we've got another hole here. We're gonna skip that hole and go right out to the outside. This is our access hole where we'll get our hardware in place. We're always going to be using this as our forward attachment point. And then the foam tape that we removed on the inside of the frame well here, that's gonna be our third detachment point. If we get our hardware in place, we're gonna be using a full wire. We're gonna start with this hole as our center point. A little bend in that pull wire. We're just gonna guide it on over. We want it to come out of your access hole. We're gonna thread on our spacer block, using one of the longer spacer block. And then also our carriage bolt into this location. We want to use one of the shorter ones. We're gonna have four shorter carriage bolts. Then you're gonna have two longer carriage bolts, so be sure to use one of the shorter ones here. Now we can slide our spacer block up and in the frame rail there.Just draw it on over. And you just need to pull your bolt down through. Now, at this point we want to remove the fish wire.It looks like we will have to take down these shrubs just to get our exhaust down enough to slide our hitch over. Again, we've got two screws that we need to remove, they're in the plates that come off the side of the exhaust shroud here.We use a T-25 torques bit to remove them. With those two screws out, we just need to slide it forward, and there's these two tabs on the top. Let's get a better look at that. You can see the two tabs here. Those slide in right up here, here and here. You can see the tab here that had the screw through it, and also the tab here that has the screw through it. Now with the help of an extra set of hands, we'll lift our hitch up and over the exhaust of both sides. You'll want to bring it forward, we'll cheat it one way.Push it over the other way. And then we want to line up the hole in the back part of this bracket with the bolt we put in place. Over that hook, I'ma put a tooth washer and a nut. You want to make sure that the teeth of that washer is facing up towards your hitch. We'll use that to support it when we get the rest of our hardware into place. Now we can get our big spacer blocks put in place. These are gonna go over our forward attachment point and our hitch. And we'll fish wire our bolt down in through there. We'll get these installed on both sides. Now we'll feed our full wire in, just like we did before. Bring it back to our access hole. For those forward attachment points, we want to use our smaller spacer blocks, and our longer bolts.Once we get that through, we're also gonna add a conical tooth washer and a nut. We'll go to the passenger's side and do the same thing there. We'll do the same thing for our side attachment point here. It's a little harder to get the full wire down and out, but it's possible. And in this spot, we use a larger spacer block. And one of our shorter carriage bolts. Now we'll take the full wire off, we just need to be careful not to let that bolt fall back in the frame. And on that we'll add our conical tooth washer, and the hex nut.Now we're gonna go through. We want to snug down all of our hardware. Once we got it all snug, we use an 11/16th in socket. We're also gonna torque it down to the specifications in our instructions. Now on each side, we can replace our exhaust finger brackets. Bring them up over from the backside of the hitch. We use the original hardware, put that back in, get it tightened out. And the beauty ring is put back in here. Now, with those back in place, we'll put a little more lubricant on those exhaust hangers, and we can get our exhaust back up.With our exhaust back in place, that's gonna complete our installation of the drawtight max frame custom fit class 3 trailer hitch receiver, part number 75671 on our 2015 Volvo SC60.

I received the trailer hitch on the date promised. The box was beaten up pretty badly and paint was chipped off of the two arms going above the hitch on our Volvo XC60. The instructions were difficult to follow, I would recommend you send the link from UTube and leave it at that. The installation was done in my garage, I used wheel ramps to raise the rear end of the car and had plenty of room to work. One of the wire threaders bent during the first bolt install, the other worked fine and I still have it. I installed the wiring harness the next morning with no challenges. Thank you for the trailer hitch, I am looking forward to many years of use. 638000

Thanks for the follow up. The hitch manufacturers recommend using a high quality spray paint to touch up any minor paint chips and light scratches.

It fits as promised. Only been attached for a couple days now. I’m using it only for a bike rack. Was able to get all the bolts in and the torque wrench on all of them. Install did take me about 2.5 to 3 hours because the bolts kept getting stuck or we couldn’t get them to come through the frame. I read a review that said to tip the plate on its side for the 2” bolt that’s at the top and that ended up working out for us. The bolts that are installed horizontally were fairly nerve wracking as well. We fed the washer on over the wire and held tension on the bolt while we just pulled the wire off destroying it. Not saying it’s the best idea but that’s how we played the game. I would just say to use the install video and some of the reviews that have better technical help. But the receiver fits and it will go into your car and you can get all the bolts in. 641375

The whole transaction with etrailer.com was flawless from the confirmation of my purchase to the tracking of the package, they kept me well informed, as far a the packaging is concerned the box held up for the most part for the exception of one corner of the hitch that I'm assuming due to weight or mishandling by the carrier made the installation a bit hard ssince I had to leverage with the aid of a crawl bar and a jack to be able to match the holes on the frame, other than that the instalation was simple fish the wire through the frame's holes and attach the hitch. It looks good and It is easy to mount the bike rack. 103416

Many choice and great prices. The hitch I bought fit perfectly and went on easily (easy learning curve for a first timer!). Same with the wiring harness. Used it the next day for 1000 mi trip. Overall, great experience. 87932

I am looking to use bike carriers, and the one o wn now, may not have enough neck on it to reach in and under the rear febder skrting as shown. Any insight on this fromt the users? Thanks

Fits easily, although be aware that you need SAE socket set, as metric sockets don’t work. You do need two people to get over exhausts and trim, but once there, easy fit using existing holes in rear subframe 512184

The hitch installed as expected and it looks good. It really does apper to be hidden. The wiring harness also works great. It would be helpful if there were more detailed directions and pictures for the wiring harness. I am pleased with the product I purchased from etrailer.com 53163

I bought this hitch so that I could add a hitch mounted bike rack. I have used several drawtite products over the years and have always been satisfied with their price and quality. It is tucked up nicely on the vehicle and sturdy enough that I could pull a trailer as well if desired. I found the installation pretty easy and all the holes lined up just fine. The threading wires used to get the plates and bolts through the frame worked quite well and was able to get all 6 in position using just one of the wires (although it was nice to have the extra one just in case). I read several comments that people said the back bolt is too long and that they destroyed the wires and 2 weren't enough. The trick for the 4 bolts that come through the bottom of the frame is to get the plates in position first and then pull the bolt through. For the back bolt, as it gets to the plate you just have to tilt the plate on its side and as you pull the bolt through it'll drop down the hole. Then I took a short length of wire and wrapped around each bolt under the frame to prevent it from being knocked back up into the frame while positioning the hitch. The wire is removed once the nut is started but before the hitch is pulled up tightly. The two bolts that come through the side holes were a little trickier. Once the other 4 bolts are tightened and the hitch is snugged up, thread the guide wire through. Slide on the plate and then thread the bolt. Gently work the plate through the small opening in the frame before pulling the bolt through. Then gently pull the wire, jiggling and shaking it a bit as you go and it'll pop through. Getting the nut and washer on the bolt without knocking it back into the frame was the biggest challenge in the whole job for me due to my large hands (not much room to work). Using a long flat bladed screwdriver (or something similar) I could apply pressure to the bolt holding it in place while removing the wire and adding the washer and nut. The screwdriver allowed me to hold the bolt in place while squeezing one hand up there to add the nut and washer. 562410

The hardware itself is solid, and when installed on an XC60 with the R-Design body package, snugs neatly up under the bumper cover, and doesn't require any cutting or modification. Things fall down when it comes to the installation instructions. Three of the bolts go in as the instructions suggest. The front-most passenger side bolt requires clearancing of the hole on the backing plate, because there is insufficient vertical room for the carriage bolt to be pulled through the backing plate and hole in the frame rail. That's minor compared to the two front bolts. The instructions for those are literally impossible. They make the assumption that the ends of the frame rail are open. The only way THAT can happen is if you remove the bumper cap, impact absorber, and rear crash structure. I had to drill access holes in the frame rail to be able to get the bolts and backing plates up in there. Then I needed two long extensions and a universal to get a socket on the nut to tighten everything down. Took me about three hours, start to finish, instead of the 45 minutes predicted. 262655

I'm fairly handy and this job took about 3 hours. Online video was really helpful, but I ran into several snags along the way that weren't shown in the video. After getting the hitch into place and fastening one side I discovered hitch was slightly bent and wouldn't line up with holes in vehicle frame. After calling ... service they said it's fairly common and that I needed to remove it and try to bend it back into shape. It's wasn't an easy task getting into place, so I was annoyed to have to start all over. After straightening the hitch and getting first two bolts fastened the next four were really difficult to get into the proper position with the fish line. I struggled for an hour trying to get these in. I eventually got them all in but not without cutting up my hands and fingers trying to maneuver them around in the small holes and crevices I used to guide the bolts into proper position. All in all in saved my $400 from the Volvo dealer and the hitch looks really nice on my 2013 XC60 R Design. 267192

This hitch was installed on a 2016 Volvo XC60. I use this hitch pull trailers when needed and for my bike rack. I had it professionally installed by trailer hitch installer to ensure everything was torqued properly. They did an excellent job and the hitch works great. I also like the fact, that the majority of the hitch is behind the bumper and can't be seen. 430053

This product simply does not fit. After placing the bolts and getting the hitch positioned I discovered that the holes in the hitch do not line up with the holes in the frame of the car. They are not even close. With the screw in position on one side, the other side is off by at least an inch. Now I have no hitch and I am stuck with bolts dangling out of the frame with no good way to remove them. Very frustrating experience and terrible product. DO NOT BUY!! 665340

When a trailer hitch is manufactured, softer steel is used in the side plates as opposed to the harder steel used in the crossbar and receiver tube. This allows the hitch to flex along with the vehicle to a certain degree. Unfortunately, this flexibility can also allow the hitch to get slightly bent out of position during shipping and handling. Fortunately, it is very easy to fix this if you know a few tricks as shown in the article Ill link for you.

We installed this hitch on our 2010 Volvo XC60. Took me and Hubby working together to get it done. It was not too hard - took maybe 1 hr. Does the job of accepting our bike rack perfectly and is very secure. The issue we have had is that the muffler knocks against the hitch. It doesn't do it when the car has more than 3 people in it. It does it when I'm driving by myself or with a passenger. It's really annoying!!! I couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from, and I thought there was something wrong with my car. I took it to the Volvo shop and felt like a moron when they pointed out that it was the hitch we had installed ourselves. So I have just tolerated it for the last year. I miss my quiet ride, but I guess the suffering is worth the joy of going on bike rides with my family. If anyone has installed this on a 2010 Volvo XC60 and has NOT had this problem, or had this problem and fixed it, I would love to know what you did differently. 652988

The exhaust system at the rear of the car is attached to the vehicle using rubber isolators and easily bendable exhaust hangers. Because of this, the actual position of the exhaust system can vary a bit from vehicle to vehicle. When the hitch is installed, its position will not vary from vehicle to vehicle. The large tolerances in the exhaust system is what can allow the rattle to occur. In other words, its not the fault of the hitch or its design. Youll just need to create a bit more space between the hitch and the exhaust. The good news is that this is a very common occurrence that is easily remedied by slightly bending the exhaust hanger. Ive linked you to a help article that addresses how to easily fix the rattle.

It was a pleasure to work with a product that is well engineered, well fabricated and painted, fits well, and has quite good installation instructions when you combine the printed sheet and the on-line video. I plan to use it as a rear anchor point to tie down my car when trailering it. 584305

Quality product at a good price! Only two issues. Packing as there is no way that the flanges can fit in the box and therefore poke through the side becoming vulnerable to damage and possibly damaging other persons items on the same pallet. And the quality of the fish wires, one broke on the last bolt so I ordered another online and it seemed to be stronger and more rigid (it would also be nice if they included a spare or two if something goes wrong). 579825

The Volvo hitch is rock solid and performed very well over the last year. The fit and install instructions were as good as it gets and were easy to follow. Crawling around on the ground is a little tough at my age, so the more info the better to expedite the install (no lift in my inventory). The electrical components were a breeze as well, which I usually dread. I can't believe etrailer followed up a year later to make sure I was satisfied. That is unheard of these days. Most companies get the sale and run. Great company! Jerry M. Thanks Jerry 519145

Ordering was easy. Delivery was pretty fast and free. Fit well. Didn't have to do any bending. Not easy to do by yourself but it's possible. Normal amount of hand contortions. Instructions and video were spot on. Wiring turned out to be easier than I thought it would be. 2015 XC60 has a fuse box right by the left taillight. Mine had plenty of capacity and plenty of spare locations to use. 499095

Just installed a Draw Tite hitch on my 2011 Volvo XC60 R Design: everything was great. The hitch arrived promptly, the video for my hitch and my year and model car was really helpful and the hardware all fit great. Positioning the bolts that came with the hitch was not a problem using the fish wire. My only comments after the install: (i) getting the hitch in place over the muffler is not easy and requires pushing against the plastic bits of the car... nothing broke, and none of the R Design trim needed to be cut, but it is not obvious that it will fit, (ii) tightening the top bolts, the horizontal ones, is not easy and for me required three wrenches and a lot of patience, (iii) the top arms of the hitch were about 3 or 4 mm wider than the frame, likely by design, and once the bolts were tightened the arms were snug on both sides and (iv) re-positioning the hangers for the muffler after the hitch is in place can be done without taking the hanger assembly apart, by twisting the rubber mount. 470846

I installed the hitch on my XC60 and the video showing the installation was helpful. There was a snag in the installation where on the passenger side the mounting point that uses the block spacer and 2" long 7/16" carriage bolt would not go through the mounting hole using the fish wire. All of the other bolts worked fine with the fish wire. I noticed that the bolt that did not go through seemed to not be able to stand up enough inside the frame to allow it to feed through meaning the bolt was too long I ended up having to buy another fish wire since the ones I had got trashed trying to get this stubborn bolt installed and bought a 1 3/4" long 7/16" grade 5 carriage bolt. This shorter bolt went in no problem and was able to be fished in easily. No problem with putting on the washer and nut with this shorter bolt. That's why the rating is not excellent since in had to figure out a way on my own spending extra money on parts to make the install work out. 427402

Once again great service, I received my Draw-Tite hitch receiver in expected time. The installation video was extremely helpful and very well done, the step by step procedure was easy to follow. The hitch is well made and the installation kit provided a very valuable fish wire for installing the bolts. The only minor hitch was that the top holes on my model Volvo had a heavy black tape over them that I didn't see until I had the hitch in place was able to remove it with a long thin screw driver. 403652

Excellent product. Fits like OEM but did require a bit of fiddling on the installation t get it to fit. Threading through the bolts is not easy especially if you do not have a lift. 398767

Had garage install. They said it fit perfectly but was a bit harder to install than expected. That is because of the vehicle. Not the product. The hitch fit perfectly. Looks good too. Hardly noticeable. 394152

Well engineered and fit perfectly. The YouTube video was well made and very helpful. The Volvo dealership wanted over a thousand dollars for a trailer hitch and I don't believe that included installation. I did mine with the wiring harness for under two hundred. I did not use a lift but I raised the rear of the car about 10 inches with jackstands. Very happy with it. 362118

The hitch fit perfectly however it was not as easy to install as stated. It may be a lot easier if you have a lift but installing it with the car on ramps is trickier. The online videos were very helpful. 356026

Do you have a question about this Trailer Hitch?

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver, Wiring, and Ball Mount Compatible with 2015.5 Volvo XC60
  • The 2015.5 Volvo XC60 leaves a little hubbub as you mentioned over model year fits. You won't need to worry about this as we have the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75671 confirmed to fit all 2010 thru 2017 models of the XC60. This hitch does require a specific ball mount size to fit properly. I recommend the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 8-1/2" Long - 7.5K # 2923 which is a confirmed fit. You will also want...

  • Hitch Comparison and Recommendation for 2011 Volvo XC60
  • It's really pretty hard to pick between the three hitches that are available for your 2011 Volvo XC60 as they are all very similar in all of the important criteria. The prices are very close, the capacities are the same, the designs are very similar, and the installs will be basically the exact same. To help narrow things down a bit though the Hidden Hitch and the Draw Tite # 75671 are the exact same hitch as they are made by the same company. The only different one from those is the...

  • Will a Trailer Hitch Receiver Reduce Ground Clearance for a 2015 Volvo XC60
  • Unless you have a vehicle that needs the fascia cut out to make room for the receiver, any hitch that is installed on your vehicle will reduce the ground clearance. This is the same case for your 2015 Volvo XC60. I recommend going with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75671 which is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver. It has a Gross Towing Weight (GTW) of 4,000 lbs and a Tongue Weight (TW) of 400 lbs. When used with a Weight Distribution (WD) system those capacities...

  • Installation Difficulty of Curt Class III # 13268 and Draw-Tite 75671 for a 2015 Volvo XC60
  • The installation procedure for the Curt Class III # 13268 and the Draw-Tite # 75671 are identical for all intents and purposes. The differing install difficulty ratings reflect each manufacturer's opinion of how difficult the hitches are to install. I've looked over the installation procedure, and I'd personally rate it as a 4 or 5. Since the hitches have an identical appearance, identical weight ratings and an identical installation procedure, there's no reason why you couldn't go...

  • Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2015 Volvo XC60 without a Roof Rack or Trailer Hitch
  • Other than the roof and a hitch the other way to carry bikes on your 2015 Volvo XC60 would be a trunk/hatch mounted carrier. There are 1, 2, and 3-bike carriers available. The only 3-bike model is the Yakima HalfBack # Y02635. I have linked a video review of this rack for you. If you need to carry more than 3 bikes I recommend going with a trailer hitch and using a hitch mount bike rack. And should you ever need to tow a trailer or use a cargo carrier for extra storage space you will...

  • Different Installation Difficulty Ratings for Hitches for the 2013 Volvo XC60
  • The hitch installation difficulty ratings we show for the three hitches specified for your 2013 Volvo XC60 are based on the manufacturer ratings. These are the estimated times required for an experienced professional installer to complete the job. For any hitch, the time needed for a first-time effort will be longer; how much longer will depend to a degree on whether you have access to the tools and equipment resources a professional installer would have, such as a vehicle lift. • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for 2017 Volvo XC60
  • There is a solution for you to haul three bikes with your 2017 Volvo XC60, but there are no trunk-mounted three-bike carriers that will fit. I recommend using a hitch-mounted rack, which you can do by first installing a hitch such as the Draw-Tite # 75671, which is a Class III hitch that is a confirmed fit for your Volvo. I've added a link to a video showing this hitch being installed for you to take a look at. With a hitch installed, the three-bike rack I recommend is the Kuat Transfer...

As you can see in the accompanying photo I provided, both hitches will have about a 1 inch reveal below the bottom edge of the bumper fascia. Keep in mind that if your XC60 is the R Design model, some fascia trimming might be needed. Both hitches would install in the same manner, and share identical weight capacities. I'd recommend the Curt # 13268 as it's the least expensive. If...

  • Recommendation to Carry 4 Bikes with 2011 Volvo XC60
  • We do have a nice selection of trunk-mount bike carriers that are confirmed to fit your 2011 Volvo XC60, such as the Yakima HalfBack 3 Bike Rack # Y02635, however the most this or any trunk rack can safely hold is 3 bikes. To transport 4 bikes with your XC60, I recommend using a hitch-mounted bike carrier like the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. When used with a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver, this will allow you to transport up to 4 bikes at 35 pounds each. This carrier features...

  • Will the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75671 fit the 2010 Volvo XC60R
  • After some research, I have found that the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75671 is a good fit for your 2010 Volvo XC60R. In addition, the Curt Class III Receiver Hitch # 13268 is also designed to fit the 2010 Volvo XC60R. On the Draw-Tite Class III Frame Receiver Hitch, a specific 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop ball mount that is 8-1/2 inches long # 2923 must be used. • The difficulty ratings for the install of the hitches for the 2013 Volvo XC60 are decided by the manufacturers. The Draw Tite hitch part # 75671 and the Curt part # 13268 are both so similar that neither would install easier than the other. Curt just estimated that their hitch would take around 20 minutes longer than Draw Tite did. The install rating is nothing more than just the length of time it would take. I attached an install video for the Draw Tite for you to check out as well. If...

  • Installing Draw-Tite Class III Receiver Part # 75671 Hitch on Volvo XC60
  • The Draw-Tite Class III Receiver you mentioned, part # 75671 is a fit for 2010-1012 Volvo XC60 models. Instead of the weld nuts used in the XC90, the XC60 will have holes in the frame (as you have found). To install the hitch, large block washers and carriage bolts are threaded up into the frame so that the bolts stick out of the frame members and provide an attachment point. The hitch includes a fish wire that is used to pass the block washers and bolts into the frame. This procedure...

  • Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2013 Volvo XC60 for Carrying 2 Bikes
  • The benefits of a trunk mount are lower cost, no additional mount is needed, and they can store easier since they take up less space than many trailer hitch mount racks. Trunk mount bike racks are limited to 2 or 3 bike models, they carry the bikes closer to the vehicle than a hitch mount, and the rack must make constant contact with the vehicle. It is possible for the bike rack to scratch the vehicle paint if the rack and vehicle are dirty during installation. A hitch mounted rack...

The Draw-Tite Class III hitch, part # 75671 would indeed be a fit. If your XC60 is a European spec vehicle, the fit of the hitch has NOT been tested, so I wouldn't be able to guarantee fit. • Trunk and Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Options for a 2010 Volvo XC60
