This hitch is very solid. However, it states that it is an exact fit for my 2003 Chevy Silverado. It did bolt on but, it is 2 INCHES lower than my factory hitch. It made my hydraulic dump bed trailer set 2 inches lower and put more weight on the front 2 wheels. NOT A FERFECT FIT FOR SILVERADO.

Eric - 04/25/2021Great price, quick shipping even with the pandemic going on. Had a little trouble installing this heavy duty hitch by myself but went on very easy with no issues. I have not pulled anything yet, but don't expect any issues with this 16k rating on a 1/2 ton truck.

Everything looks great and has been working very well and pleased with the service and customer service as well. I’ll definitely order more from etrailer weather it’s a new hitch to anything to do with towing with my brand new camper. I trust them 100% and I’ll do a review in a year to see how things hold up. Shipment was quick.After getting the a socket deep enough to remove the old bolts from the light duty hitch on my 2013 Silverado, The installation was straight forward and simple with the help of my wife and son. Thanks etrailer.
StJulian - 09/18/2018This is a heavy duty 2" receiver trailer hitch (C1523). The 3/8" steel it is made of is the way to go. Aside from the capacity of the hitch one really great features is that the safety chain hook holes are large enough for 3/8" clevis slip hooks. Most hitches don't seem to have holes that are too small.
I had purchased a 2006 gmc savanna Thomas short bus and needed a hitch for it. The frame was not a normal savanna width. Searching the etrailer site I found drawings of a hitch I believed would work. I needed to enlarge 2 holes to 5/8inch, clean up 2 1/2 inch holes, and drill 2. 1/2 inch holes. In the end I spent more time running to store to get a needed drill bit. The hitch was installed in less then an hour. This was my 2nd hitch from etrailer the last one went on a Ford e350. Had it on in 20 minutes with my sons help. Both hitches purchased were over kill but the xtra capacity is nothing but piece of mind.

Bought this hitch receiver to replace the old rusted out factory hitch receiver. Bolted right up with no need to drop the spare tire. The differences between this hitch receiver and the factory one are night and day. This thing is solid. My truck will pull apart before this receiver hitch fails. Way overkill for my needs, but I will never worry about a receiver hitch failure!
Recently purchased a Curt Class V Hitch-Receiver for my 2010 Silverado to replace the original factory class III, that had seen better days...I am absolutely impressed with the heavy duty build quality, perfect fit, and finish of my new receiver as well as gaining at least 3 extra inches of ground clearance. As far as installation went, in all, it only took about 20 minutes from start to finish...from dropping the spare tire, removing the old receiver, installing the new one, and putting the spare back up...Didn't need a lift or a jack, just rolled under and got it done...and I am in my early 60's...Did I mention it was a perfect fit? I am looking forward to putting my truck back to work and have every confidence in the towing capacity, safety, and longevity of this new hitch. I would very much recommend etrailer.com to anyone, and already have to some family and friends. I definitely plan on doing more business with them for other items for my truck...Sorry I do not have any pics or vids to show how easy it was or how well it fit...Thanks again, and will be in touch
William - 10/25/2020I have been using this hitch for a year. It is excellent. Very heavy duty (class V) and well made. It is far better than OEM. Positives: quality and workmanship is very good, price on etrailer is very competitive, raised the height of my receiver by about 3/4” providing more clearance under bumper. I don’t really have any negatives for this unit. Quick note, if you have an aftermarket exhaust like I do you may need to slightly modify the routing of piping to make clearance for the frame mounting brackets. I have dual split rear outlets and it required slight bending and moving a tailpipe hanger. Not a huge deal but just a heads up. I’d highly recommend this for anyone looking for a heavy duty hitch.
DK - 02/05/2020Very happy with this. Truly bolt on installation without having to modify anything. Definitely seems much stronger than the factory hitch. Its pretty heavy and awkward to do by yourself but its manageable. It took me roughly 20 minutes from start to finish. I no longer have to worry about my hitch while towing.

Easy to install - much beefier than the stock unit. One year in and it's wearing well. I'm sure this hitch will outlast the truck.

Item arrived quicker than expected! Which came first the chicken or the egg? The CHICKEN the eggs are on back order! But not this hitch!
Hitch installed very easily. Was an exact fit no drilling needed. Delivered in timely manner. Looks good when installed does not stick out a hair past rear bumper. Would recommend for anyone that wants to replace old rusty stock hitch. This hitch is built with a lot thicker steel than factory hitch.

Best hitch I could find for the Silverado 1500. I have it on all of my snowplow trucks that have rear mounted plows since the factory are weak and tear and I was surprised on how thin they were and Gm has them on all their trucks pulling trailers which is scary because I’ve broken 3 now These curt hitches are holding up fine and I used them for a full season so farm and I think the truck frame will break before this hitch does
